Bamboo steamers are typically used for cooking Chinese dim sum, but have many virtues that make them handy for all types of food. The domed lid traps steam efficiently and the two baskets can be stacked to accommodate different foods in each level. These steamers are usually used inside a wok (be sure your wok is about 2" wider than the 6" baskets) but can also be set over a stockpot.

Fell apart after one use.

I used this bamboo steamer one time to cook brocolli. I then cleaned it with water and a brush, when I went to put it together to store none of the pieces fit together, they all warped after one use.

The nice thing is that you don't need an additional pot to cook over like you do with bamboo, and ALSO the steamer cavities are deeper. I cook with them in the UK, but can't quite fit them in my suitcase.

I thought the size would be too small, but it's actually perfect. We cooked two pieces of Salmon easily and perfectly with this little helper. Healthy and easy cooking.

I use this for steaming dim sum for family dinners as well as large parties along with multiple other steamers. It works well, including use in an electric wok.

This set is very small. It comes with the instructions and recipes for a 10" set attached so it is difficult to determine how much you can actually make in it at one time.

This steamer is great but it is way too small.
You can't even fit a small plate in it. Otherwise it works great!

It was probably my fault that I didn't look to see how small this steamer was. It is only large enough for 3-4 dumplings in each section. I definitely needed a larger size.
