The strainer is set up for left handed use. Not something I though about since the photo shows it as a right handed tool. To use it right handed, the bottom lip of the tool doesn't support on the pot and it slides around loosing your cooked food in to the sink.

Very convenient especially when you need to keep the food, pasta, etc. in the pot. I like this a lot. Obviously, you need a pot that can be handled with one hand.

Poor Quality

February 10, 2007

While I liked the strainer, the handle broke when I was washing it. Very poor quality as I only used it a few times.

Convenience at your fingertips!!!

This handheld strainer is fabulous. I have had my own for about a year and this one I was ordering as a gift for my sister. You don't have to pull out a huge straining bowl, you just grab this and it hooks together with the pot and strains the liquid out. It is GREAT!!!

Great product, I use it almost daily. I had a plastic one that broke early on and this one is terrific!

It's exactly what I was looking for. You can't find these just everywhere. Good thing it's stainless steel - what I had before was chrome (a cheapy) and it rusted out. This one won't do that. It was a little more than I had been hoping to pay, though.

A rare find anymore

by Jonathan, OH

I have been hard pressed to find a replacement for my pot strainer. Seems like anymore you have to buy a new pot because most of them have the strainer built-in to the lid. This product is well made and reasonably priced!

The strainer is very sturdy and the 'lip' on it helps it to rest nicely on most pans! Excellent product.

Awkward Strainer

by lisa, OK
January 5, 2010

I had high hopes for this strainer, however it is a very awkward design. The handle is too long and flat. It would work better if the handle was shorter and rounder - a more ergonomic design.

The only reason I gave this 4 stars was because I thought that there could have been a bit more of a drainage surface. You have to be careful not to dump your food out over top of the stainer when draining. Otherwise this is made very well. It is made of a heavy duty stainless steel so it won't rust like the old one I had. Also it can be used either left or right handed. I bought three of these, one to keep and two to give away. We are of the same opinion as what I wrote.

This is a great product, and I was searching for something like this as my mom had one similar to this while I was growing up. I like how it has an edge on each side so you can pour either way, but I would prefer for the cresent to be a little wider so that when straining ground beef it wouldn't fall out!

I have been looking for something like this to use when draining pasta or veggies. This is a great product! I like the long handle and the holes are small enough that peas did not come through it. Cleans up nicely, too. Wish i'd had this years ago.

Great Help

by Tina, CA
January 31, 2011

This strainer is one of my must have's in the kitchen and has been for almost 30 years. There are not many who know about this tool, but I tell everyone it is essential when straining liquids from pots, frying pans, and bowls. This strainer is made for both right & left hands. The only thing is I wish it the straining part was a little larger./

The crescent pot strainer has become a difficult item to find. My son is getting married and had been looking everywhere for one. I was only able to find it through your services.

Not quite

by Marie, NY
June 22, 2011

I was looking for this item as my nylon one snapped in half, however, the handle on this one is way too long and the straining part is a little to narrow should be a little wider so whatever you are straining doesn't fall over the top of the strainer.

Hard to Find

by Barbara, MN

This is really more crescent shaped--wish it had been deeper. Purchased for my daughter and she's using it. Husband wants one now because of lip that holds it tight to pan.
