When designing kitchen tools, some manufacturers simply concentrate on function while others concern themselves more with the design. At Rosle, the engineers and artisans combine the best of both worlds spending hours - actually days, months and sometimes years - developing and designing each of their tools to exact standards and specifications.

This Can Opener is no exception. The cutting edge works its way around cans without touching the contents, and it leaves a cut edge that is blunt and smooth for safety. The cut at the side allows you to lift lids easily and it cuts in such a way that you can reuse lids temporarily. A handsome ring on the end lets you hang and display it on your Rosle Rail System. A better, heavier, more well thought-out tool you'll be hard-pressed to find.

This can opener is so easy to use, and I love the fact that it doesn't come into contact with the food in the can. It's pricey, but it's worth it.

This is a great manual can opener. Get one you won't be disappointed. I don't think it's made in China either as another reviewer commented. It says Germany on my tag.

The last can opener you'll ever buy!

by Donald, NY

This can opener took one can to learn how to use it. It cuts the lid off from the side so you don't have the sharp edge on the lid. You can also put the lid back on to store unused portions in the fridge for awhile. It works so easily that it take awhile to realize that the lid has been completely cut off and that you've just been spinning the knob for no reason. Just once around is all it takes, every time.

Took some getting used to

This is a sleek little opener that does the job well. It took some getting used to, but it does a wonderful job of removing the entire lid (no sharp edges). It's a little pricey, but it takes up a lot less room in my drawer than the Zyliss.

great can opener!

First of all, I have had several can openers...all the same type and have never been happy with any of them. The $40 for this one was tough to swallow (I still think its too high) but this opener performs like it says, is smaller than the others and I love it all the same. If you're frustrated with your can opener(s) you won't be with this one.

I am delighted with this can opener. After much frustration with other can openers breaking, not doing the job they were intented for, I bought this opener. It is by far and away the best can opener I've ever used. Well worth the price.

No More Jagged Edges

by Carol, NJ
April 6, 2011

Saw this can opener reviewed on America's Test Kitchen. I had been thinking of getting an opener that removed the entire lid on cans. It took me a few minutes to get the hang of how to use it. I really like the fact that I no longer have to be concerned about a nasty cut on a jagged edge due to a slip of the hand or finger. It is pricey but I'm a big fan of quality kitchen tools and I'm worth it!

The no-sharp-edges feature of this can opener is worth every penny. I love my Rosle - bought it 3 yrs ago; this most recent purchase was a gift to my sister, who has recently started cooking more.

Best Opener Ever!

by Sandra, AE
January 28, 2007

I've owned many can openers over the years and I have to say this one beats them all. There's no squeezing of handles or piercing lids and no sharp edges. I love it and it's super easy to use and clean and has a high quality feel.
