This 7-in. Asian Chef's Knife has a sharp upward curve and thicker "belly" than a traditional cook's knife. Great all purpose knife for cooks that like to chop or rock against the cutting board.

The thin and razor sharp Global blade allows the cook to cleanly slice through foods, preserving the integrity of the ingredient and maximizing its flavor. The majority of Global knives are ground to a straight point rather than the western style of beveling the edge. To balance their knives Global uses a hollow handle that is filled with just the right amount of sand to create the correct balance. The handle has its own unique darkened dimples for a non-slip grip. Because the knives are very light weight they reduce hand fatigue. Global knives have a smooth contour and seamless, all stainless construction that eliminates food and dirt traps. Global knifes are forged in Japan from CROMOVA 18 Stainless Steel, a blend of 18 percent chromium for good stain resistance plus molybdenum and vanadium which gives excellent edge retention.

Best Knife I've Ever Owned

I've woked as a meat cutter and in a few restaurants in my lifetime and know the importance of a SHARP knife. I've owned quite a few, what I thought were, "good" knives. Boy was I wrong! This Global knife is the best knife that I've ever owned, bar none! It holds an edge like two lovers holding hands and stays sharp like no other knife that I've ever had the pleasure of using. And a pleasure it is, light in weight, yet heavy enough to get the job done with minimal effort, and well balanced, it feels great in your hand. When you look at the price, you might think that it is a little on the expencive side, but how can you put a price on excellence? And remember, you get what you pay for. Spend $40 or $50 on a knife and that's what you get, a $40 or $50 knife, spend a few more $$$ and get a knife that will last you a lifetime! Make the investment, don't get stuck with just another "Cheep" knife, get the BEST

I bought this for my boyfriend, just because. He has a set of Global knives and he loves them. This knife completes the set. I would recommend this knife to everyone. Thank you.

Im a novice cook so my experience is limited but this is a very very sharp Japanese chef's knife. It does not have the kind of weight one might prefer but it seems very useable to me. I guess for the price I would have expected a little more.

I love the Global Oriental Chef's Knife. I had one that I lost during a move and finally decided that I couldn't live without it and purchased another. Cuts smooth, well balanced, handles nicely...and most of all it stays sharp!!!

Verv good balance, with a goog weight. Not to light so you have to force it, not to heavy so you don't over slice
your product.
Top rating over all, price of product, ease of use, and style.
Will recommend this knife unconditionally to anyone.
