This is the very best pop-up steamer on the market. It actually has descent sized u-shaped pods on the bottom instead of those silly little stick feet. Solidly built, as are all Oxo products.

Finally !

I finally found it! My Mother had been using a steamer like this forever as its very easy to use and does not require her lifting a heavy steaming basket full of food out of anything. Some how the old one was lost and we searched and searched for a replacement and could not find one. I was thrilled to see this available on The Food Network site. THANK YOU!!!!

Good Choice

This steamer is stainless and sturdy. Feet provide much better balance than my old one. All that remains to be seen is how long it lasts. The steamer I replaced was about 30 years old. If this one lasts half as long I will be satisfied!

My second one

This is my second OXO steamer. A well-meaning friend managed to bend one of the fins on my original trying to collapse it for the dishwasher. I like this particular model so much bought a second one even though there are less expensive ones on the market. Have a number of OXO products - they are well-built and stand up to near daily use in home kitchen.

Excellent

I had been looking for something like this everywhere and came across this gadget . At first i was skeptical because it looked too simple! but after buying it i am sold! Works very well and does what it is supposed to do . Frankly speaking i would advise anyone not to waste money buying those automatic steamers this saves lots of money ,lasts longer and has everything a good invention should have:
1. Simplicity in design and never goes out of fashion
2. Easy to use
3. No need to buy new parts
4. Affordable ( though i wish it could be ten dollars less)
5. Easy to clean
6. Fits in most pots

I like this steamer much more sturdier than my old dollar store one. Sits high in a sauce pan of 2 qt and does not open as far as the dollar store one. But love the quality

Pop-Up Steamer

This is a wonderful gadget. I eat a lot of vegetables and prefer some of them steamed. I previously had a steamer but the ring fell off and it was difficult to get it out of the pot. I am more satisfied with this one.
