Craftsmanship has been a tradition at Wusthof for over 190 years. Quality and precision have always been the standard that we measure our knife by and our Gourmet line of stamped German knives take precision to a new level. Each knife in this line is cut from a piece of steel using a laser beam to make a perfect blade. The blade and shape on this 6.5-in. Santoku Knife resemble the Japanese Cook's Knife. It's just right for preparing sushi and sashimi - or anything else you want to slice paper-thin. The hollow indents in the blade allow food to slide right off without sticking. Also works well when dicing onions or other vegetables.

A long-time Wustof user, I found this knife to be of inferior quality and returned it immediately upon receipt. The handle is plastic and very lightweight. The blade seemed very sharp, but because it was stamped rather than forged, it felt flimsy - not reassuringly sturdy like I've come to to love about my other Wustof Classics. I wouldn't pay more than $15 for this knife, and yet they're selling it for far more. Very disappointing. I found the extra cash and bought their "real" version of the Santoku in the Classic line. I will say that the return process was very easy and trouble-free, and the product was delivered fairly quickly, so kudos there.

Love the knife

This knife is excellent - veggies, carving meats, I am thrilled with the results. My old knife required much too much "manpower" to cut. This knife is effortless.

This is a great knife. The one thing I really like about it is the food does not stick to the knife.

I have always used a chef's knife for all my prep work, but this knife is great . It is comfortable and light and a joy to use. It makes chopping garlic and vegtables a breeze.

This is a first-rate general purpose knife. It feels good in the hand, cuts cleanly, and is easy to maintain.

The hollow feature on the blade is unique and makes cutting lots easier especially when you need to cut thin slices.

Easy to review this knife...it is one of the best knives I have purchased. If you are prone to cutting yourself don't get it because you just might slice off a finger.

This is a good knife, but I expected it to be as well made as the Classic line. If you are going to invest in knives I would go with the Classic.

I think the quality of Wustof is excellent. However, The dimples in the knife are supposed to keep the food from sticking to it, from what I hear, and I used it on onion, celery, and other various soup ingredients and found that they still stuck to the knife when slicing. Other than that, it was very sharp and useful.

This was my second order from Food network - the first was for myself, this one was a gift for my daughter (although I had it shipped to my house). My daughter is thrilled with the knife (which is enjoying daily use). I am a big fan of FoodTV even though I am not much of a cook.

I've wanted this knife for a long time and was very pleased to find it for such a great price. To get this Wusthof knife for fully $30 under the price in other stores was quite impressive.

This knife is such a pleasure to use, Iook for things I can cut up with it. The light weight, thin blade and wonderfully sharp edge make it the nicest knife in my kitchen.

Rachel Ray's famous knife from her 30-Minute Meals cooking show in the Food Network. This knife is good. The handle is higher than the blade, which means that your hand does not hit the cutting surface. Sharpness is good, though no better than my other German knife, Henkles. If you want a good knife, always stick with the German knives. Those folks know how to make a good knife.
