  • A long-time Wustof user, I found this knife to be of inferior quality and returned it immediately upon receipt. The handle is plastic and very lightweight. The blade seemed very sharp, but because it was stamped rather than forged, it felt flimsy - not reassuringly sturdy like I've come to to love about my other Wustof Classics. I wouldn't pay more than $15 for this knife, and yet they're selling it for far more. Very disappointing. I found the extra cash and bought their "real" version of the Santoku in the Classic line. I will say that the return process was very easy and trouble-free, and the product was delivered fairly quickly, so kudos there.

    I have always used a chef's knife for all my prep work, but this knife is great . It is comfortable and light and a joy to use. It makes chopping garlic and vegtables a breeze.

  • I think the quality of Wustof is excellent. However, The dimples in the knife are supposed to keep the food from sticking to it, from what I hear, and I used it on onion, celery, and other various soup ingredients and found that they still stuck to the knife when slicing. Other than that, it was very sharp and useful.

  • This is a great kinfe, extremly sharp, well balanced and lightweight. The hallow edge makes cutting through sticky foods a breeze. It made me realize that it wasn't my tecnique that sucked when cutting, just my knife. I can cut a whole onion in half the time.

  • I've been wanting to buy a nice Chef's knife, and after seeing this knife's recommendation on a TV New's program I decided to give it a try. It's nice and light and cuts very well. The identations on the knife help keep what you are cutting from sticking to the knife, but I must say I've chopped carrots, garlic, shallots, etc. and they do still stick a bit. I'd say I am very happy with this knife and I would recommend it.
