One of the hottest new knives to own these days is the hollow edge santoku knife. Use it as you would a chef's knife for cutting, mincing and slicing. Hollow indentations on the santoku's blade help prevent sticking so food slides right off.

An update from Wusthof, their Grand Prix II line is now better than ever. This new line of cutlery features an improved ergonomic, contoured handle that is slimmer so it's more comfortable to hold. The pebble-grained surface is slip-free, an improved safety feature you'll really notice, especially when hands are wet or greasy. An improved full tang improves balance and heft as you cut, slice and dice. More precise manufacturing measures have been taken to improve the fit of the handle to the bolster to help extend the life of your knife. A new no-stain, high-carbon steel alloy blade has an improved edge that stays sharper, longer so there's less need for frequent honing.

This knife is wonderful! Cuts through anything like butter. I've never spent this much money on a single knife before, but I was so tired of dull knives that I felt it was worth the extra money for a quality product that will stand the test of time and use.

I use my Wusthof 7-in Hollow Edge Santoku everyday. Comfortable handling, easy slicing and chopping, and stays sharp. Have bought the same knife for my daughter-in-law and sister!

I have not used another knife since I got this one. Slicing, chopping, carving...perfect balance, great control. Where has it been all my cooking life?

This knife is very sharp but I'm a little disappointed in how the food sticks to it. It could be my misunderstanding but I thought food was not suppose to stick to the knives with this type of edge. Other than that, it's a great knife.

All good knives are pricey and I knew this would be a good one for my son who is starting to really enjoy cooking. I had to get him a good knife! He reports that he really likes it. Handle is very comfortable.

Bought this for my husband (the resident cook). He raves about it and claims it's the best gift I've ever given him. I used it last night and was surprised at how easy it was to chop and cut things.

Love the santoku, light and easy to handle. My wife, who couldn't care less about what knife she uses, told me she loves this knife and why didn't I buy one sooner.

The Wusthof knives are the absolute BEST! I LOVE my santoku knives from them, this is now my 4th Wusthof santoku knife, that is how much I LOVE them! I've tried other knives, but they don't compare. They're sharp, easy to use, and make chopping a breeze and a pleasure! You can't go wrong with this knife!

Wusthof knife

December 23, 2011

I have a friend that never owned a quality knife. She has watched me use mine and has requested that I give her lessons on the proper way to use one. The problem is her knives wouldnt cut butter ( cheap ). Saw this one on Paula's site and with a good price. I use only Wusthof knives, their great, decided to buy 2 for the price of nearly one. One for my friend and one MORE for me. Never have enough knives. Now I will enjoy showing her the proper way to use it. Especially with a quality knife. I love Paula Deen Store. My 3rd order in less than 2 months. I received it much quicker than I anticipated. I'll be back and find something I just can't live without. Merry Christmas Y'll...

A great addition to my knife block

My boyfriend has a knife like this, so I learned why it is a good design. The key advantage is that the little dimples in the side of the blade allow you to cut carrots and other vegetables without them flying off the counter onto the floor. This is a very nice knife - I highly recommend it.
