Depth and nonstick quality of poaching cups is great. Vapor vent hole in glass lid helps control doneness.

Great Egg Poacher

by James, FL
March 18, 2009

This is an absolutely wonderful product. The pan is really heavy duty and the eggs come right out of cups when sprayed with either butter oil or olive oil. It cleans up so quickly! The only recommendation I would make is to only use regular or large eggs -- I used extra large eggs the first time and it took so long for the whites to cook that the yolks got hard. I think I have it down pat now and my husband is really enjoying the Eggs Benedict I make using this. I researched a lot of egg poachers before deciding to buy this one and am so glad that I did. Would, and have, recommended it to several friends.

Egg Poacher

by Cathy, MD
October 21, 2009

This is a solid, heavy duty sauce pan. I had another one from Betty Crocker for year, bought one at Target that rusted within two months and all the coating came off the cups. These cups are great and the eggs slide right out. Very high quality product.

Well made, very nice piece, be sure to read the instructions - it's not as non-stick as I would have expected!

I bought the 4-egg poacher and am completely satisfied with it. I especially like its robust construction and quality workmanship. It is so much better than the less expensive poacher I was using that I kick myself for not buying it sooner. Great poacher.

Very solid, multi-purpose pot. The egg cups definitely need to be greased lightly before adding the eggs or else they stick.

Good But Can Be Better

by Timothy, KS

Overall this product is good. Nice to have the clear top and the hole for escaping steam. Nice to be able to lift the cups away from the pan all together and easy to get the cups out. The only drawback is that the eggs stuck to the cups. Thought they were non-stick. Next time we'll use Pam before putting the eggs in the cups.

Pricey, but worth it

This poacher cooks perfect eggs in 4 minutes, is easy to clean, is extremely well made and works well as a sauce pan because the bottom of the pan is so thick. It is now rare for our family to have any other style of egg for breakfast in the morning. Low fat also!!!

I like the product. Since the tray with the cups becomes very hot, it would be good if some device was included to lift the tray with the cups by hooking on to the tray. It's difficult and awkward to use a pot holder to do this.

Great egg poacher! Good size for 1-2 people. Easy to use (cups come out using a fork on the handles) and better than other egg poachers I've had. Sturdy construction: pot, lid, insert, cups. Pot doubles for other uses. Extremely pleased with this purchase.

Great Egg Poacher

I was poaching my eggs in the microwave. I decided to stop using the microwave for cooking food and needed a way to poach eggs. Found this egg poacher on Cooking.com and it has worked perfectly. Cookes the eggs just the way I like them and clean up is easy. Could not ask for more.

perfect poached eggs!

by Carol, PA
October 13, 2007

My hubby is very fussy about his eggs. I had a really rough time trying to cook poached eggs to suit him. The microwave poachers are absolutely useless. The eggs are either too hard or not cooked enough. I tried every different style, every different method, all different cooking times...no good.
When I ordered the Demeyere poacher, I was immediately impressed with the design and the quality of the product. It only took two tries till I had the timing down, and finally I can make perfect poached eggs!

Solid, beautiful piece

I'm not sure why they had to put a heating disk in the bottom to just boil water, but I love this poacher. Nice deep cups make the perfect poached egg. Cups are non-stick but can still use a smidgen of oilive oil. You can also lift the cups out easily with a fork and the handles cool very quickly so you can serve immediately. Excellent price for excellent stainless quality. Good deal compared so some pricier poachers.

Throw out your microwave poacher....

by PIERRE, IA
November 19, 2007

Throw out any microwave poachers you might own and get a step closer to culinary heaven with this perfect egg-poacher.Practical, convenient and easy to use. This is a good quality product ( Belgian and at the same price as its Chinese counterparts).

Poaching eggs is a question of timing and taste so success depends on keeping a close eye on that timer...

Non-stick surfaces seem to do a good job...I admit to cheating a little - I also give them a quick wipe with some butter (that, in turn, adds further flavor to the eggs)

Easy to clean - dishwasher or conventional (though I avoid putting non-stick cooking ware into the dishwasher).

Enjoy....

The quality of the stainless is excellent. The heat conduction is very good. And the eggs cook in 3 minutes without sticking to the cups.

Best ever egg poacher! Still needs a spot of butter in the bottom (helps with flavor too). Worth every penny!
