Being a Home canner and jelly/jam maker for decades now, I have used a LOT of labels, both permanent and "removable" that don't live up up their names. There are the only ones that stay on and then rinse off when wet instead off coming our of the dishwasher with the ink gone and the label even more securely affixed!
I find that the labels do not release correctly and parts of the labels stick and tear, which make me write another lable. I have already used 1 box of labels for only 44 jars and am upsset with the quality.
This kit was really great and affordable. I wish it included the utensils so it could be a complete starter's kit.

These labels are great! They dissolve the minute they hit the water and leave no residue on my jars. To be perfect, I wish they were a bit larger. I made myself a template for my computer and print them out on the printer in colors. Problem is... when I have large words "Spagetti sauce" the font has to be small to get it all on the label. I also put dates and type (garlic, cheezy, regular Italian, etc.) I could use more space. Looks beautiful with my jars in rows. Otherwise - perfect!
Though NOT a beginning canner, I purchased this so I could can using a large stock pot, rather than my "grannyware" canner.. Worked perfectly for 1/2 pint put ups! Would be great for a new canner to NOT have to purchase all new supplies until they felt comfortable with the process.. Glad BALL thought of this!
If you're like me, and have a large stockpot, and you need a rack that fits what you've already got - this is for you! It was the BEST! Seriously, you've got to get this. I used the 3 jars it came with to make Ball's recipe for Jalapeno Salsa (from their Blue Book). Success!
These labels are a blessing, so that I can easily remove them with a little warm soap and water. It makes re-using my jars so much easier. I'd love to see these designed in a sheet of labels for a printer. That would be way cool!
The labels that come in a box of jars are extremely difficult to remove. There are also never enough, as I use jars more than once. Standard printing labels don't stay on jars. These dissolvable labels are fantastic. I can have as many labels as I need, and no more scrubbing the daylights out of jars to get old labels off. I love these labels.
Great for labeling all jars. I use jars for food storage, canning, sewing and crafts, desk supplies. I also have pets that love to chew on cardboard, making paper or plastic containers (which most desk, food, craft and sewing supplies are packaged in) hazardous for them. I store everything in glass containers. The labels can be placed anywhere to be seen in drawers or cabinets easily. They are a perfect size and shape.
