Backed by a 10 year warranty, Calphalon's Commercial Hard-Anodized Cookware is made to professional standards, offering the home chef unsurpassed cooking performance and lasting durability. Each piece in the Commercial Hard-Anodized line is made of a heavy-gauge aluminum that distributes heat evenly and eliminates hot spots as you cook. And because it's made entirely of metal, each pan can be used in the oven and under the broiler. Hard-anodizing seals the cooking surface, making it stick-resistant and non-reactive to food. Handles are designed to stay cool on the stovetop and are balanced with such precision that even full pans are easy to manage and carry.

fantastic pot

by felicia, NY
November 18, 2006

we were looking for replacements for our non-stick cookware to avoid possible dangers we learnt from recent news on health. this pot is not entirely nonstick but if you don't overheat it and follow the directions, it will not stick and the food tastes better than using non-stick, it will have a nice even seared flavor. it's a sturdy pot, large enough for stews, soups, and with the rounded bottom, it works well for stir fries. some who are nostalgic for the older version of this pot complain of the thinner sides, etc. i actually appreciate the thinner sides because it makes it easier for me to lift and work with. since it has a lifetime guarantee, it doesn't matter if it is that durable (i don't know about durability since i've only had it for a coouple of weeks) because if it does break,i will certainly ask for them to be replaced. i also own le creuset cookware and love they way they cook, so evenly and smoothly, but do not like hauling weight while i'm cooking - even when i'm not old nor do i have arthritis yet! i hope you will enjoy this versatile piece of equipment too.

7-qt. Chef's Casserole by Calphalon

by Barbara, NC
July 15, 2007

I needed a larger pot for the chilis and stews that I love to make. This product not only fits the requirements, but is easy to clean and works in the oven as well as on top of the stove. I can fix it and then keep it warm or make a partial stovetop recipe that finishes in the oven and it always turns out perfect. It even looks nice right on the table. This is a winner in my book.

Awesome

I love the 7 qt Chef's Casserole by Calphalon. I had a smaller version and my husband put it in the dishwasher and ruined the finish on it. I replaced it with the 7 qt. as the other was a bit small for the soups and stews I use it for. It is a great product and I would replace it in a minute if something happend to it. I use it all the time.

What a bummer!

by Suzanne, CO

I got my Chef's Casserole very quickly and I tried it that night for dinner. I made spaghetti sauce. I was so disappointed! The finish or non-stick coating came off. I've used the pot a couple of times since then hoping that I could get past the ugly looking bottm of the pan. It's a great size and I love it because of that but the "finish" looks bad and the pan smells kind of "tinny". I'm disappointed in the pot but love Cooking.com.

size of casserole

by Sue, SC
January 24, 2010

I had an 8 quart stock pot before buying this 7 quart casserole pot. I was afraid with my size family ( there are 7 of us)that I would not be able to cook 2 pounds of pasta at one time without it coming out starchy. I was wrong. it does a wonderful job. with easy clean up too. that's a bonus. I have purchased 2 of them one for pasta and the other one for sauces. Love the handles. they don't get hot, you are still able to pick up the pots without potholders by the end of cooking time. something I was unable to do with my old set. I'm very happy with my purcahse and am now thinking I should have bought 3. I often have friends and family over.

Wanted to be able to replace a 6-qt. professional Calphalon saucepan and this was as close as I could come. Lightweight gauge of this pot and lack of handle makes it a poor substitute. One plus is the domed lid.

This is excellent for its style. The only drawback is the lid could be heavier. It has the typical superiority of Calphalon, ease of cleaning, balance and high quality. This complements our other Calphalon products. It is nice enough to bring to the table.

Very Nice and Love it

by Chieko, AE
February 10, 2007

I purchased this product to replace my old dutch oven.
So far it has exceeded my expectation.
In one review I read someone said it was made very thin, but if you look at it
carefully, the bottom part is made very thick thus it made very heavy.
You can tell it when you pat the side and the bottom to compare.
I love this product and will keep using it.

I am use to using teflon coated pots & pans that food does not stick to. Food sticks to this one & it is not as easy to clean up as my other non stick.

by Susan, NH
December 25, 2008

My Chef's Casserole arrived 12/09/08. On 12/10/08 we were hit with an ice storm the worst the state has seen in decades. For 13 days with no power I was able to cook every day, on top of my wood stove with this pot. Oh yeah, did great on X-mas day too. What a quality piece. Thank you!!!

Affordability

by Deborah, NJ
March 16, 2010

I have wanted to purchase these pans for several years. Thanks to Food Network you have made this possible for me. Each time you have one of your wonderful sales it affords me the opportunity to purchase one or two pots/pans at one time. Eventually, I will have aquired an entire set that was affordable for me. Thanks for enabling me to purchase what I consider the best set of pots/pans ever made.

Chef's Casserole, (7-qt.)

by Steve, TX
May 4, 2010

Really, really thin material. I mean like thin as a paper plate!. Also, I believe there must be two kinds of Calphalon. Some has a great non stick finish and some has a finish that stuff sticks to pretty badly. This one sticks. It's ok for some things, but way too thin to hold heat like you need from a cassarol this size. From the picture I thought it was of a much, much heavier material. I have used it to fry in, but due to the lack of mass, tempratures fluctuate wildly. It looses heat very quickly.
