AWESOME
My mom taught me when I was a kid to always dry your cast iron cookware on the stove with fire, then wipe them out with oil while the pan is still hot- I know it says pre-seasoned but you have to keep seasoning every time you get them wet to make them better- well after the 3rd time of doing this- nothing sticks. If it comes a little rusty -no worries just wash and season the rust will disappear- that's what cast iron does. Gotta love the price compared to other dutch ovens too!!!- lid fits tight and does have the dripper nubs to keep your food basted- try meatloaf in this pot- its great!!

Made in USA YEAH!
7 qt. Lodge Dutch Oven
We bought this Dutch Oven to use as a fryer for fish and chicken. We have used several Lodge iron frying pans in the past with excellent results but the Dutch Oven just makes the frying process much less prone to splatter oil.
The Lodge Dutch Oven came pre-seasoned with excellent construction (no sharp corners or uneven interior cooking surface), and the lid fits tight. The 7 qt. size also allows you to add and remove the chicken or fish easily. It makes the frying process quick and easy with no mess.
The oven heats up evenly and cleans up easily. I plan on getting the frying basket they make for this model. Also Lodge is made in the USA, which is a plus for me since iron fry pans I have used from China have been of poor construction.
I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys fry cooking.
Great Dutch Oven

This iron kettle with a tight-fitting top has the best features that I've found for making traditional, bread. It has perfect capacity, no legs, with just the right sized top and side handles and a heavy, tight fitting lid.
I made old-world style "no knead" bread years ago, but got steered to bread machines when I lost my old Dutch Oven in a house fire years ago.
Interesting that the many international students who occasionally board at my house have commented that this is one of the few places in the US that they can find real bread to enjoy....crusty and chewy...not soft, gummy and sweet.
All that was needed was the lidded iron kettle, flour, salt, yeast, water and no kneading. The bread machine that I had used has been sent off to the local thrift store.
Thanks for the product and the reasonable price!
