When you're ready to get serious - buy this.

Bought this to replace the piece of junk lifter that came with our canner. This is a serious piece of equipment. It's solidly made, hasn't rusted after dozens of canning sessions and - most importantly - none of the plastic bits have melted. When you're lifting a boiling glass jar of hot, thick liquid, don't trust cheap garbage tools - get this lifter!

Safety of jar lifters

This jar lifter is secure and stable for lifting jars. I recommend it and think you should discontinue selling the less expensive item.

I like that the tongs are fixed together.

My old tongs were not fixed together and often came apart as they got a little older. These tongs feel safer as I pick up hot jars. I am a little concerned that there is not metal inside the rubber grips. I am still getting used to them though so will probably get used to the new feel.

The best lifter

I was leery about using a different lifter-hate change, but this is truly a wonderful product. If I had to choose my favorite canning tools, this will be my number one. I no longer worry about the jars slipping if I don't hold the handles tightly, very easy to manipulate.

I love this jar lifter, it is a very well made product. It should be included in the starter package, not the cheap one that was, it continued to fall apart!!
