We think you deserve a kitchen knife that works as hard as you do, and this Victorinox Swiss Army 8-in. Chef's Knife fits the bill perfectly. This precision-crafted knife, made by the same manufacturer as the world-renowned Swiss Army knife, is built to be lightweight, balanced and durable, so it will deliver reliable results time after time. The blade is crafted from high-carbon stainless steel with a high-polish finish that ensures easy, even slicing and easy maintenance. This knife's great 8-inch length makes it ideal for carving roasts or poultry, slicing bread, or chopping or dicing larger vegetables, such as potatoes or eggplants. The patented Fibrox handle is designed to be slip-resistant whether your hands are wet or dry while you're gripping it. The conical ground edge retains its sharpness over time, and it's laser tested to ensure its precision. The comfortable handle won't cause hand fatigue, even if you're using it for an extended period of time. Hand-washing this blade is recommended to keep it in tip-top condition, but it also is dishwasher safe if you're in a rush.

Best Used For:

Put this high-quality knife to work slicing a homemade loaf of crusty bread, carving a roasted chicken or slicing large potatoes. It's a larger knife, but its lightweight and easy-to-handle design means that you can easily use it for smaller jobs too, such as dicing onions and tomatoes for salsa or slicing cheese for an appetizer plate.

  • Wow!

Better than my Wusthoff Classics my son gave me for Christmas(Just don't tell him as the knives set him back almost $900.. Unbelievable value for the price. Great handle.

  • You can't touch it for under $110

I have a set of hand forged knives I bought some years ago. I started with the chef's knife, which I love. But that knife is 10" long and unwieldy at times. I had a Kullens blade Santuko knife in the set and broke the edge on a very hard object. I couldn't afford to replace that knife, though it was my most used knife due to it's sharpness and length. Well, I don't need to replace the expensive knife because I found a better one. This knife is light, sharp, and controllable. There is no knife at 4X's the cost that can beat it. If I need a heavier knife then the 10" Lamson comes out.

    I recommend this product.

  • best knife for the money

i bought this knife after reading a review in a cooking magazine i subscribe to. it said the knife performed as well as knives that cost much more. i took a chance on it and their advice is accurate and well worth the price. the first time i used it, i was like "wow"! i can't believe this knife was only thirty bucks! it's my new favorite knife, enough said.

  • I always steered away from recipes that called for a lot of chopped veggies because chopping was a chore. This knife changed all that. It is comfortable in the hand and it cuts like a dream! I reach for this knife over my more expensive ones because of the Fibrox handle - a sure grip with wet hands. No wonder Cooks Illustrated rated it so highly. This is an excellent value for the money. Every cook should have this knife!

  • Best Knife Ever!

So much time and money has been spent over the years on knifes of all qualities. I've spent so much moneyon similar knifes than I've spent on the 8 in. Victorinox Swiss Army knife.
I'm treasuring this knife and am careful to not touch it to any metal, wash it immediately and hang it on my magnetic strip.
It's tomato season, and it's a joy using this excellent, sharp knife to prepare the bushels of tomatoes from my garden.
    Thank you!

It's a great knife -- well balanced with a comfortable handle. It also has a thin blade, a real boon for more control. I'm very happy to have it.

  • Great knife

I saw the review for this knife on America's Test Kitchen and wanted to get one for myself. It was sold out temporarily, which must mean everyone wanted one. Now that I have it, I wonder how I ever was able to use the old knives I was using. The knife glides through anything, including uncooked squash, with ease. The grip is easy to hold and the weight of the knife seems just right. I waited way too long to get this knife!

  • Wow! Awesome knife!

Now I know how all those cooks on tv slice and dice so fancy... they have good knives! If I had only known sooner what I was missing. This knife is has a very comfortable handle and is super sharp. It slips right through onions and I never new it was so easy to chop raw potatoes. And at this price? It's awesome!

  • Razor sharp, excellent value!

I've owned well known brands of chef knives well over $100 each, but this Victorinox chef knife is the sharpest and best cutting one I've owned. It is well balanced and not too heavy. It is also easy to use if you have smaller hands.

I've been using terrible knives for years so I assumed that any decent knife would seem wonderful by comparison, but this knife exceeded my expectations. It is lightweight, handles well, and cuts effortlessly.
