Prized possessions of professional chefs, Wusthof knives are an invaluable asset of any kitchen. Every element of this renowned cutlery contributes to its precision and ease of use. In Solingen, Germany, each piece is hand-forged in 38 manufacturing steps by skilled craftsmen. The high-carbon stainless steel blades are hardened to maintain a sharp edge and full tangs provide perfect balance with riveted, high-impact composition handles.

The serrated edge of this Classic 8" Bread Knife makes cutting a loaf as easy as slicing through warm butter.

Wusthof's newest state of the art technology incorporates a new computer controlled method for putting the edge on Classic knives. This technology allows for an exacting edge from the tip of the knife down to the heel of the knife. With this newer precision, the knives are made sharper to 14 degrees per side for a total of 28 degrees. The knives are now sharper and this refinement increases the sharpness retention because exacting angles and edges last longer than edges sharpened by hand. The result is a knife that is 30% sharper and the ICP (Initial Cutting Performance) lasts twice as long.

I had a very good first impression of this knife. The knife is light, easy to use, and comes very sharp. But being a professional chef really wears on the knives I own. I was expecting this wusthof to stay sharp a little longer than it did. I use this knife on a daily basis and it was getting a little dull after 2 months. For the home cook I would recommend this knife. Wusthof is a great company and they offer some of the finest knives out there. It will do more than you will ever need it to do in your home. However, for a professional who will use this knife every day, I would suggest something a little less expensive since it will go dull pretty quickly with constant use.

My husband and I have been slowly building up our Wusthof collection and we're glad we bought this knife.

The knife catches the bread easily so there's no tearing. The 8

Great knife

I am left handed, but I didn't want to spend the money on the 9 inch left handed knie. The 8 inch righted knife cuts so well through fresh, hot bread, tomatoes, and other things that require a serrated edge.

The bread knife I bought from you was a gift to my son. I know it is a great knife because I have owned the same one for over 5 years. I'm sure he will enjoy his. Lyn

Excellent bread knife

I seem to reach for this bread knife for many purposes--bagels and buns and breads but also to slice tomatoes, etc. The 8 inch size is a nice size as it is small enough to put on a bread board at the table too. I think the Wustoff Classic line is still the best for general kitchen purposes.

This knife handles quite smoothly, evenly, and sleek. It slices just as you want, thin or thick no problem! I highly recommend it.

I gave this knife to my Mother for her Birthday. She is thrilled with it....says it is the best knife she has ever had. She even held the bread in the air and sliced a small piece just to show how sharp it was. (we don't recommend this however)
