Loved by professional chefs around the world, Global knives are an excellent choice for the serious home cook. The thin and razor sharp Global blade allows the cook to cleanly slice through foods, preserving the integrity of the ingredient and maximizing its flavor. The majority of Global knives are ground to a straight point rather than the western style of beveling the edge. To balance their knives Global uses a hollow handle that is filled with just the right amount of sand to create the correct balance. The handle has its own unique darkened dimples for a non-slip grip. Because the knives are very light weight they reduce hand fatigue. Global knives have a smooth contour and seamless, all stainless construction that eliminates food and dirt traps. Global knifes are forged in Japan from CROMOVA 18 Stainless Steel, a blend of 18 percent chromium for good stain resistance plus molybdenum and vanadium which gives excellent edge retention.

The knife itself is fantastic, but does it really have to cost so much? I would like to buy more, but the price keeps me away. I think you'd have more sales to the general public if your product was more readily avaliable in stores and was 10% -15% less expensive.

I ordered this knife because I read about it in Anthony Bourdain's book. He writes that his chef friends are ditching their Wusthof and Henckle knives for Global because it is less expensive and performs just as well. I'm more than thrilled to own this knife. The blade is VERY sharp and chops effortlessly. The handle/grip feels great. Next time I need to buy a knife it will most definitely be a Global knife.

Did a lot of comparative shopping before I made this purchase. I looked at some reviews, and decided to take the risk. I cannot even convey how pleased I am with this knife. It's lightweight, but well balanced, and cuts through everything like butter. If you love to cook, and you want a knife that will do the work for you. This is the knife. I was so pleased, I purchased a second knife to add to my set. One word of caution: stick with a reputable seller like Cooking.com as the manufacturer is warning of knock-off cutlery items on some less than reputable sites.

This is a great knife that takes a little getting use to. It is very light while being very well balanced. I would describe it as steeping out of a chevy into a porsche. SO go slow. It keeps an edge very well

This is my first Global knife and it was worth every penny! It is so lightweight and yet perfectly balanced. It is extremely sharp and cleans quite easily. It's one-piece construction makes it very durable. I believe this knife will be a great asset for many years to come. I'm extremely pleased and intend to purchase other sizes of Global knives.
