Loved by professional chefs around the world, Global knives are an excellent choice for the serious home cook. The thin and razor sharp Global blade allows the cook to cleanly slice through foods, preserving the integrity of the ingredient and maximizing its flavor. The majority of Global knives are ground to a straight point rather than the western style of beveling the edge. To balance their knives Global uses a hollow handle that is filled with just the right amount of sand to create the correct balance. The handle has its own unique darkened dimples for a non-slip grip. Because the knives are very light weight they reduce hand fatigue. Global knives have a smooth contour and seamless, all stainless construction that eliminates food and dirt traps. Global knifes are forged in Japan from CROMOVA 18 Stainless Steel, a blend of 18 percent chromium for good stain resistance plus molybdenum and vanadium which gives excellent edge retention.

The knife is light and nimble. Not a replacement for a true Chef's knife (a bit light and the blade isn't wide enough) but it takes an excellent edge with a steel and cuts beautifully. The handle provides a sure grip and it is well balanced. I'm very happy with it.

I personally own 3 of these knives - 2 in my home and one in my motorhome. This one was purchased as a gift and the recipient was delighted as he has used mine in my home.

I got this knife as a gift for my boyfriend, who loves to cook. I think I have become his number 2! He LOVES the knife and treats it like it's the last one on Earth. I've used it too, and I have to say, I've never been able to chop up carrots with such ease. Or chop anything for that matter with such ease, it just glides through what ever your cutting like butter.
The smoothest knife I've ever used... can't wait to replace all my old knives with more like this one!

Lightweight, extremely functional. The 8-in is a nice size and complement to other knives. We have a 10-in Wusthof that was our primary chef's knife, but this knife has replaced it as our favorite.
