and six-month intervals. Choose your preference and we'll send out the shipments
on that schedule automatically. You can return and modify your subscription schedule
online at any time. You'll only be charged for each order when the item is shipped.
The amount charged each time will reflect the price of the item on the day the order
is placed, plus any applicable sales tax.

Simply login to your "Manage Recurring Orders" page in Your Account at any time
to modify the frequency of your shipments, the quantity of your subscription, and
billing or shipping address and payment methods. Changes will take place immediately
and will be applied to all unshipped orders associated with your subscription.
The traditional French design of this Wusthof 8-in. Gourmet Ridge Chef's Knife makes it the ideal tool for chopping, dicing, and mincing tasks that require the use of a rocking motion. The design elements (ridge and holes) for keeping food from sticking to the blade while chopping really only work if you chop right-handed. The ridge needs to be on the side away from the whole food and towards the chopped food. So they should have put a ridge on both sides so that both left- and right-handed chefs would benefit.
I like my knife. But I do have some suggestions for you:
1. When purchasing a knife, I feel it is necessary that the knife be contained in a sheath or protective sleeve for transport and storage. I do not have a knife block or a knife sharpener. I depend on protective sleeves (knives kept in drawer) to keep the knife in good condition and to help keep it sharp (between professional sharpenings). I was disappointed to receive the knife with the only protection being a small plastic circle on the tip - perhaps to keep the knife from puncturing the packaging. I know it is my responsibility to care for my knives. However, I believe a good knife manufacturer would want their product to stay functional by at least providing a cardboard or plastic sleeve. An expensive knife (yes, even on sale I consider this knife expensive)warrants better attention from the manufacturer and vendor.
2. On another note: I find it offensive that after I make a purchase you send me an email to get a percentage off. Wish I could have had that deal when I made the purchase. Your marketing people out to consider that sending out the offer so soon after making a purchase is really off-putting.
Has a nice balance like most Wusthof knives. The "ventilated" design allows cut veggies to fall off the back side of the knife onto the cutting board. Nice piece of gear that I probably didn't need, but really wanted.
The quality of the Wusthof Chef's Knife is excellent and the customer service of Cooking.com is outstanding. This knife makes vegetable preparation quick and easy just like you see from chefs as they prepare dishs on TV. The knifes edge along with the slot holes along the blade allows for easy slicing without drag or sticking. I would suggest s that anyolne purchasing this knife or any of the fine knives offered by cooking.com also purchase a steel sharpening hone along with the knife. Honing keeps the blade razor sharp with little or no effort and allows the kife to perform at optimum functionality with every use. Good knives are essential for efficient food preparation.
