Watch the heat
For those of you who are just venturing into the All-Clad world, be careful of the heat setting you use. With these pans, use only medium. Medium high is acceptable only when heating, turn it down after it is hot. If you do not then oil will chemically bond to the pan in dark brown film which can only be removed with considerable elbow-grease. If you let the pan heat before cooking and then use the medium setting you will be very impressed with this and all of these steel skillets.

Pan is durable, lightweight, and cooks eggs beautifully. I found no sticking of food when the pan was properly pre-heated and I used PAM cooking spray. Cleaning was a snap with a nylon sponge and hot soapy water. The brushed aluminum exterior requires an occasional touch-up with a good aluminum cleaner like Cameo. Lemon juice works well to remove occasional light brown or blue discolorations on the stainless steel cooking surface. The end of the handle felt a little sharp in my hand. I would have preferred something more rounded on the end. Overall, I love my pan.

It heats quickly & evenly (even though it's small), after using it I'd like to by the whole set if I could afford it. So I'll do it slowly

7 of 9 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »I was very disappointed. I purchased this pan when it appeared on special to see if I wanted to order an entire set. I am returning it because the stamped insignia underneath the pan came up through to the surface causing "pimples" in the center of the pan. All-Clad is always rated very highly by chefs and consumer reports and perhaps this pan was an abberation, I certainly hope so.

3 of 4 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »I have cook potatoes, chicken, and steak in this skillet and the food has turn out great. I love this product. I tried to fry eggs and it didn't work the eggs stuck to the skillet so eggs are out and other food is in. Priscilla

1 of 2 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »Pretty piece. I felt that I followed directions with care but still ended up with food that stuck to surface and some discoloration, after first use. Can't decide if I will keep or give to someone else.
1 of 3 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »I love the pan except I didn't know it had the brushed finish on the exterior. I find that a little hard to clean. Other than that, I love the weight, shape and looks

I just love this skillet. It is great for making omelets, and the best part is that nothing sticks to it. It makes a non-stick pan useless. I prefer this pan, since most non-sticks the finish deteriorates over time and you have to discard it.
I am planning on giving one to my daughter.

If not using "professional" pans, I think All Clad is the best on the market.

This is my second pan from All-Clad and they are wonderful! I'm slowly collecting them and hope to eventually have a full set. This pan spreads heat evenly and that means success for omelets and crepes.
