The Best Ever Bread Knife

My husband is the bread slicer in the family. I gave him this knife for a Father's Day gift. At the time he said this was a very practical gift. After using this knife for the first time yesterday when I finished baking bread, he said it is the best knife he ever used in his 68 years. The only bread knife you'll ever need. Make it a great one.

Great product. Bread knife I had, Chicago Cutlery, just didn't have the teeth to do the job; this one does. It also goes with my other Henckel knives.

I feel like the knife was lightweight. I expected a German steel knife to be more substancial. I don't mind paying a little more for good quality.

We are a family of bread lovers so it's actually surprising that we haven't purchased a bread knife already. After using this knife, I can't imagine NOT having one now. Slices soft and firm breads easily. For the first time, my sliced bread doesn't look mangled! This knife is a must-have!

I really like all the Henckles 4-star knives that I've purchased. Please note that there is a huge difference between Henckles and Henckles International. The latter are made by a Chinese company and are a flimsy imitation at best. The 4-star is by the German company Henckles and has all the hallmarks of the fine quality that they are known including cold hardened steel, tang that goes all the way through the handle, well-proportioned handle and blade so it balances well in the hand, and holds an edge really well. Unlike some bread knives, this one cuts clean through even relatively crumbly bread without tearing it.

As always you get what you pay for (if you do your research). I am completely satisfied, even thrilled, with my Henckels knives. The bread knife is wonderful and sharp also easy to handle. I use it nearly every day and can't image have to do with out it.
