Working on the same principle as a piston, the Reed's Rocket is the nutcracker for the automobile age. The nut holder is bolted to one end of a short steel beam; this screws forward or back, depending on the size of the nut. At the other end, a wood-handled lever pushes the piston forward into the nut, cracking it with smooth efficiency.

You hold the nut in the holder with one hand and operate the lever with the other; once you get the system down, you can open a few pounds of pecans in a matter of minutes. Cracks pecans, english walnuts, almonds, filberts & Brazil nuts

It is a little pricey but will worth it. I just love saving my fingers and moving quickly finishing getting the nuts out of the shell.

Rocket Nutcracker

The Rocket does a nice job of cracking the black walnuts off our tree. We do have to turn the walnut a couple of times to get an even cracking of the shell. The meats come out nicely, and cleanly without bits of nutshell crushed into the meats. We had a good harvest of walnuts and I will be especially pleased if it does the whole crop this well.

This nut cracker is a quality product and a must have for every houshold -it sure beats all the cheaper once that keeps pinching your hand . It is perfect for any size nuts and you get a whole nut almost every time. The only problem with it is that it makes a mess with the shells being spit all around it, but I fixed it simply by placing it in a box and use it that way.

An excellent design, well-built

This nut cracker is easy to use, works on al types of nuts I've tried (including pistachios with crackless shells) and leaves complex nuts (pecans, walnuts) relatively unbroken. It appears built to last. Too bad its manufacturer can't build it in the U.S.

Very Happy with Rocket Nut Cracker

We've been through several nut crackers and were looking for something more durable. We found it with this nut cracker. It has worked great without any problems for eight lbs of nuts in the last two weeks. It is very simple to use. It has worked great with English walnuts, pecans, almonds, hazelnuts and Brazil nuts. It is adjustable in about a second to handle all these sizes of nuts. Our kids enjoy it as they can now actually crack nuts much easier than a hand held version. Before they were never able to crack the bigger nuts (English walnuts & Brazil nuts). Overall, a worthy investment if you like to shell your own nuts rather than buying them already shelled.
