The best feature of the 8X2 Rocket Nutcracker is being able to adjust the nutcracker to the size of the nut. We use the nutcracker to crack pecans. Every year our family sends pecans from their trees in Louisiana. They are not the hybrids with the esay to crack shells. They are the old fashioned pecans. Very hard shells. This Rocket style nutcracker is perfect for the small and non-hybrid shell pecans.

Rocket Speeds Up Nutcracking

I just love my Rocket Nut Cracker. My trees gave me enough nuts to fill 3 five gallon containers before I stopped picking them and letting neighbors and strangers help themselves and using an old-fashioned nut cracker was time consuming and painful. I can now painlessly and quickly crack 50 or more nuts in one sitting. And, I get many more complete halves than I did the old way. This is one of the best food related purchases I have ever made. Limited Use

I bought this nut cracker to crack hickory nuts. I found that I am unable to crack such hard shelled nuts.
Perhaps I would be able to do so with a much longer handle, but the width of a hickory nut elevated the handle to an angle where I am unable to apply pressure without moving the nut cracker off the table instead of crushing the nut.
I believe it would be great for smaller, softer shelled nuts.

Great Nutcracker

This is the best nutcracker ever. I have 2 pecan trees and usually the nut crackers break the nuts when i use them. This one cracks at the ends and I get whole nut meats out. It's just GREAT.
