Working on the same principle as a piston, the Reed's Rocket is the nutcracker for the automobile age. The nut holder is bolted to one end of a short steel beam; this screws forward or back, depending on the size of the nut. At the other end, a wood-handled lever pushes the piston forward into the nut, cracking it with smooth efficiency.

You hold the nut in the holder with one hand and operate the lever with the other; once you get the system down, you can open a few pounds of pecans in a matter of minutes. Cracks pecans, english walnuts, almonds, filberts & Brazil nuts

  • The best feature of the 8X2 Rocket Nutcracker is being able to adjust the nutcracker to the size of the nut. We use the nutcracker to crack pecans. Every year our family sends pecans from their trees in Louisiana. They are not the hybrids with the esay to crack shells. They are the old fashioned pecans. Very hard shells. This Rocket style nutcracker is perfect for the small and non-hybrid shell pecans.

  • rocket nut cracker

It is the only nut cracker I have found that will crack walnuts without breaking after the first dozen nuts. With arthiritis it is imposible to crack nuts but with the rocket I can crack all kinds of nuts with ease and no pain. Thank you for this product.

  • black walnuts

we bought this nut cracker planning to use it on black walnuts, which one of the reviews claimed worked well. It broke on the first black walnut. We are aware that black walnuts are a different nut than regular walnuts, but we based our choice on the review.

  • Rocket Nutcracker

The Rocket does a nice job of cracking the black walnuts off our tree. We do have to turn the walnut a couple of times to get an even cracking of the shell. The meats come out nicely, and cleanly without bits of nutshell crushed into the meats. We had a good harvest of walnuts and I will be especially pleased if it does the whole crop this well.

  • This nut cracker is a quality product and a must have for every houshold -it sure beats all the cheaper once that keeps pinching your hand . It is perfect for any size nuts and you get a whole nut almost every time. The only problem with it is that it makes a mess with the shells being spit all around it, but I fixed it simply by placing it in a box and use it that way.

  • An excellent design, well-built

This nut cracker is easy to use, works on al types of nuts I've tried (including pistachios with crackless shells) and leaves complex nuts (pecans, walnuts) relatively unbroken. It appears built to last. Too bad its manufacturer can't build it in the U.S.

  • Limited Use

I bought this nut cracker to crack hickory nuts. I found that I am unable to crack such hard shelled nuts.
Perhaps I would be able to do so with a much longer handle, but the width of a hickory nut elevated the handle to an angle where I am unable to apply pressure without moving the nut cracker off the table instead of crushing the nut.
I believe it would be great for smaller, softer shelled nuts.

This product is so easy to use, affordable, etc. after purchasing one for my household, I have not only loaned mine to others so far I have purchased approximately 6 more for others (in order to keep my own). They, too, are as happy with theirs as I am with mine.

  • My Dad Loves It!

I bought the Rocket Nut Cracker for my father who loves to eat pecans. He's 76 years old and it has become more and more difficult for him to grip and squeeze traditional nut crackers. The Rocket Nut Cracker is very well made...very solid and sturdy. It is much heavier than I thought it would be. It takes some practice to get it right because with too much pressure you can shatter the nut. It's kinda fun to play with as you challenge yourself to crack the nut whole. I recommend this to all nut lovers.

Cracks the pecans and doesn't break them into little pieces of nut shells and meat. Works great on Brazil nuts too.

  • I bought this as a gift for my father who is in his 60s, since there were many reviews touting how easy it was to use - it's not! There were no instructions with it, and I even had trouble figuring it out! My father tried to use it a couple times, resulting in spewing nuts and shells all over the room, and then he gave up. I felt horrible because he can't even use the gift I bought him! I would not recommend this unless you are in for a challenge, and a lot of nut shells all over your house.
