love this little guy. it is so cute and serves it's purpose well. you can pinch from it, or for company you can use the spoon.

This is great little gadget! I used to leave my salt in a small glass bowl on the counter. Liquids and humidity always spoiled it. This is wonderful! The lid is sealed which is a plus. I too find the small spoon useless.

When I saw Alton Brown using this on his show I wanted one. I could never find it in the stores or anywhere, so I was quite pleased when this item came up for sale on Food Network. Thanks Mr. Brown.

No more fighting with the salt shaker. Just open, and grab a pinch or a measured amount. It it such a pleasure to use!

I find the tiny spoon to be useless, but that's a minor detail.

Love my Salt Server

Before I got the salt server I had to keep going to the pantry to retrieve the salt box. This sits next to my range and is convenient and pretty enough to leave out on my countertop. Although I rarely use the spoon it is handy when I need just a touch of salt instead of a pinch.

I purchased a salt server thru one of the food network stars web sites. It was a gift for my husband he was thrilled with it. Our middle daughter happened to come over for dinner and saw the salt server. I thought it would be a good gift for Christmas for her. I tried to order another one from the other site but it was down, I was stuck since Christmas was very near. I went to the on line food network store and was able to find a salt server. I ordered it and it came in time for Christmas. It actually was a better one since it had a spoon and a rubber seal which keeps the salt dry. Our Daughter loved the salt server thank you food network store for being so quick in shipping the product. Betty, Estero Fl

Alton's a genius

I love this container. Keeps salt (or other spices) clean and dry, yet the large opening makes it easy to get them out, and holds enough to make it all matter. It's also easy to clean! Mine did not come with a spoon - which I didn't want anyway, and meant that it also did not have an opening in the lid for one. FYI.

Salt Server

I have found this to be remarkably useful when cooking. Much easier to measure from than directly out of the box. And, no, I don't use the enclosed spoon--I don't live in a Colonial era house. I've found it as useful as it appeared to be when I saw it in use on Good Eats.

I found this item very useful. It makes adding salt to any recipe much easier. I also think one could us it for any similar type of spice.

Nice seal for the container. The handle seems a little awkward though.

I like to keep salt and pepper right next to the stove. These servers are not only functional they are also nice looking. The serving spoons are a little small but do-able.

Excellent for the cook that like to add "pinches" of ingredients. I'm thinking of getting a couple of more.
