Purchased a very nice coarse salt server. Happy with the product. Freight and handling charges were excessive for so small an item.

I love the salt server. But I think the spoon is a little too small.

Great little bowl

This is a very useful product. It sits nicely between the pepper mill and oil next to the stove. The spoon it comes with is a bit on the small side, but it makes a great server for the fancy salt at the table. I love the rubber grommet that is inside the lid. I live in the south and the humidity tends to clump salt, but this beauty has taken care of that problem. If you cook or barbeque a lot I recommend this server.

salt server

I shopped around for salt cellars for a gift for my husband and decided on the one from the Food Network. When it arrived, it was missing the silicone gasket that was supposed to come with it. I notified Food Network by email and got a response in 24 hours. A new salt server was shipped and arrived within the week. We are happy with the quality of the product and the service.

Great salt cellar/server!

by Rachel, TX

I got this because Alton Brown uses it on Good Eats. It makes it easy to get salt either with a pinch or measuring spoon. The lid is great because it will keep out splatters or accidental spills, unlike open salt cellars. The silicon around the lid helps keep out moisture, so the salt doesn't clump. The small handle makes it easy to lift and tote around the kitchen. The spoon that comes with it is tiny, so I don't use it. The spoon would be cute if you used it on the table as a salt server, though. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied and would purchase again!

This salt accessory will dress up you counter with practical style. You will like its easy of access to salt, one of our flavorite food additives ( yes I meant to spell it that way). The contemporary styling is is mixed with easy of cleaning. The glass bowl vault is removable for quick cleaning. Best of all it is an item your friends will as one of Alton Browns famous Kitchen gadgets.

"Alton's" Salt Server

by Linda, NY

I gave the salt server as a Christmas gift. My sister-in-law got a kick out of having the same salt server as Alton Brown. She's had her eye on it for some time now.

Only one thing I'd change

by Patricia, NJ
December 30, 2009

What I like best is that the glass bowl is easily washable so I can wash it and switch the salt for grated cheese, pepper, or whatever when having company for dinner. The overall look goes works well with my china. My only Con on this item is that the spoon is very small and seems to be more of an afterthought than actually worth anything. Overall this is a great product and I'd definitely buy it again.

I love having a place to put my kosher salt--I was always trying to shake it right out the box usually resulting in too little or too much.

Appears on Alton Brown's show

by Sandy, MD
February 11, 2010

After many years of keeping our Kosher or sea salt buried in a cabinet, it is great to have it at arm's reach. The spoon is a little too small, so the typical use is to pinch a hunk of salt into meals during preparation. If the spoon is designed for table service, it's probably the right size. Anyhow, the item is working great. We love the hinged lid. Also, it was fun to notice the salt server a couple of times on the food network show hosted by Alton Brown.

Looked for salt server in stores for years

by Brenda, WA
February 15, 2010

I've been looking for a similar salt server for my husband for years. He loves to cook and when he started using kosher salt he needed a handy place to store small amounts. We watched Alton Brown's Good Eats and saw what he used. I started looking... years later it dawned on me that the Food Network might have it for sale. Wah Lah! It looks great, is very functional and not so large that I can't set it on the top of the range control panel (where the regular salt & pepper shaker sits) Thank you for providing this in your Food Network Store.

I really like this salt server. The only thing I would change would be the handle. It's a bit difficult to hold with one hand. It would be better if the handle were curved. Otherwise, it's a very nice salt server.

Salt Server ahd spoon

by Anton, CO

salt cellar is a good value - though the spoon is a bit unnecessary - flip top is ok - thought it would be a bit better engineered - but for easy of use and counter appeal - a good product

'SPOON' that is a joke

by David, GA

You folks think very highly of this salt server - your price for this is out of line. And you call that tiny stick a 'spoon'!!!!!!!!! I have never seen A. Broun use a 'spoon' this small. If I were him I would slap more than your wrist for showing in the picture a much larger spoon and shipping that thing you did! I was going to order a server for my sea salt! David Reese PS. These questions below don't cover the cooking in this house. WE cook for our family 6+ on more than special occasions
