The RSVP International 8-oz. Endurance Salt Server features a contemporary appearance perfect for modern kitchens and dining areas. The durable glass construction makes it easy to gauge exactly how much salt is in the container and when refills are necessary. A sturdy stainless steel frame secures the glass and ensures that the product will last. Each salt server has a flip-top lid that lets you quickly and easily scoop out the contents or refill the server for future use, and an integrated silicone gasket prevents moisture from causing salt to stick or melt, keeping air and water out to maintain freshness. The entire unit is dishwasher safe, saving you time when it comes to cleanup, though hand washing helps ensure the longevity of the silicone gasket. Best Used For: Use the salt server for kitchen or tableside preparation of dishes that require gourmet salts. The versatile holder also works equally well with crushed pepper, spices or sugar, giving you a stylish way to store and present popular seasonings and ingredients. Features:

  • Different than what Alton uses!

I purchased this based on watching Good Eats, however, this is NOT exactly like Alton's. The handle on this item does not curved down like Alton's; it extends straight out and therefore you cannot easily hold this and open the lid using the same hand so you can get a pinch of salt with the other hand. Alton's salt cellar (available at altonbrown.com) is an easy one hand operation that is exactly like Alton's Good Eats... you can also get the other color versions as well at this site. I don't know why this one is sold here instead of the correct Good Eat's salt cellar.

  • NOT the Salt Server Alton Brown uses

If you search the store by clicking on "Shop by Host" and click on Alton Brown's items, this salt server will come up. However, this is NOT the same one that Alton Brown uses on his show. This one has a very short, straight handle and it's virtually impossible to hold the server in one hand and flip the lid open/closed at the same time. You either have to flip the lip up and then pick the server up or use two hands. The one Alton Brown uses has a longer, curved handle so that you can hold it in your hand and flip the lip open/closed at the same time. If you're looking for a salt server, this is an ok item that's constructed well. But if you're looking for the one that works like the one Alton Brown uses on his show, you will be disappointed.

  • Salt Server Lid

Thought the size of this salt server is nice - not too big to sit on counter. BUT the lid would not close. There was a 1/4" gap opposite the hinge - gasket didn't seem to be the problem - looked as though the hinge wasn't right. M Ward

Bought this as a gift for my daughter. It arrived in a few short days and was in excellant condition. Not certain why the spoon is included as it is too small for any use. She loves the product.

  • 'SPOON' that is a joke

You folks think very highly of this salt server - your price for this is out of line. And you call that tiny stick a 'spoon'!!!!!!!!! I have never seen A. Broun use a 'spoon' this small. If I were him I would slap more than your wrist for showing in the picture a much larger spoon and shipping that thing you did! I was going to order a server for my sea salt! David Reese PS. • Salt Server ahd spoon

salt cellar is a good value - though the spoon is a bit unnecessary - flip top is ok - thought it would be a bit better engineered - but for easy of use and counter appeal - a good product

    I recommend this product.

I like this salt holder. It had a little dent when I inspected it but I did not want to go through the hassle of returning it. It gives it that well loved look.

  • I really like this salt server. The only thing I would change would be the handle. It's a bit difficult to hold with one hand. It would be better if the handle were curved. Otherwise, it's a very nice salt server.

Seems to have a good tight seal to keep salt from clumping. Just like Alton Brown uses on his show.

  • The original wasn't too bad, either.

This version of the salt server has one advantage over the older model in that it has a silicon seal on the lid. The older model did not. However, the original's handle was a better design in that it allowed a better grip due to a longer length and a pronounced bend. The new model gives a superior seal in humid conditions but, at the same time, a more precarious hold when flipping the lid. The spoon is not really needed if you know how to regulate a "pinch" of salt with your fingers. We tossed ours in a drawer.

    I recommend this product.

  • Love it!

I was looking for a salt box with a wooden top, thinking that was the only kind that would keep moisture out, but I couldn't find one at a decent price. This salt box is stainless steel and is gorgeous sitting next to my stainless stove. It keeps moisture out and offers a little spoon. I love it!

  • Great Salt Server

I love this salt server. I have looked for a long time for a better way to keep my sea salt. Since it is moister than regular salt, it doesn't work to keep it in a shaker. This works great and it looks great on the table. It is sturdy, the top works great. I am really happy with it!

  • Poor Quality

I was completely surprised at the quality as it was a total disappoitnment. I am also surprised that the Food Network is endorsing such a low quality product. The glass had two imperfections with large black specs in the glass. The metal lid was super thin and just not of that great of quality. All in all it was just flimsey. I don't believe it's the same salt server that Alton Brown uses. I do not recommend this product.

  • Nice size, holds plenty

slightly bulkier than I had wished for but still a nice salt container. will hold 1 full cup of salt. so it doesn't need to be refilled too often.

  • Looked for salt server in stores for years

I've been looking for a similar salt server for my husband for years. He loves to cook and when he started using kosher salt he needed a handy place to store small amounts. We watched Alton Brown's Good Eats and saw what he used. I started looking... years later it dawned on me that the Food Network might have it for sale. Wah Lah! It looks great, is very functional and not so large that I can't set it on the top of the range control panel (where the regular salt & pepper shaker sits) Thank you for providing this in your Food Network Store.

    I recommend this product.

  • Appears on Alton Brown's show

After many years of keeping our Kosher or sea salt buried in a cabinet, it is great to have it at arm's reach. The spoon is a little too small, so the typical use is to pinch a hunk of salt into meals during preparation. If the spoon is designed for table service, it's probably the right size. Anyhow, the item is working great. We love the hinged lid. Also, it was fun to notice the salt server a couple of times on the food network show hosted by Alton Brown.

    I recommend this product.
