gourmet oil mister

I needed this idem for outdoor grilling, but it doesn't spray like I thought it would, but it does the job with some effort.

Disappointed!

Looks nice but it doesn't work! First, it wouldn't even seal tight thus not holding any pressure. My husband had to use a file and sandpaper to level the top of the bottle. It now seals but still is unsatisfactory. Pump it up and you get one second (maybe) of spray then it requires pumping again. There are much better ones out there! (I would give it zero stars but it is not an option.)

no more chemicals

This oil mister is just what I've been looking for in the stores, but can only find online. It has worked wonderfully for the past couple weeks. Be sure you don't over fill (more than 1/2 the mister as noted in the directions) or it will drip and not spray for long. It needs the space to build air pressure.

Doesn't work all that well

This Mister doesn't really mist - it sputters. Once you've pumped the air into it, it sputters out the oil in little globs and only for a second or two, then you need to pump it again. I am sorry to say it doesn't work all that well. Maybe I will try another brand?

Mister leaked from the bottom. Fortunately, we tested it initially with water. Replacement was sent promptly, but has not yet been tested.

I have been very disappointed with this device. I think the airtight seal must not be very good, because it takes considerably more effort than the instructions suggest to get it pressurized. And even once it's charged, the spray comes out more as coarse droplets (which form visible beads on the surface of the thing being sprayed) than the desired fine mist. I'd recommend a cheap spray bottle over this.

Gave a mister to my son for Christmas 2003 and he loved it so much that he tole me he wanted another one and that I should order one each for his sons. My son is a gourmet cook and uses it all the time.

Easy to use and works as good as the store bought cooking sprays.

So glad to have this

I like this product and it is very good to be able to spray oil instead of pour. I do have one concern and that is the punping action. Seems like it could be improved.

Highly Satisfied, But

I was quite happy with this oil mister when the package was opened, an I am very satisfied with its performance, but as it is the only mister I've ever boughten or even seen, I can't really compare performance or value. I can say only that the perceived quality seems quite high to me, and the potential green and real savings over canned sprays should be significant over time.

Oil Mister

I am very happy with this product. I purchased it because I wanted to cut down on the fat in my diet and it has proved to be a good choice. It was a little difficult to get the spray to work at first, but now that I have mastered it, I use this regularly for olive oil.

It's great for spraying oil in your pan without overdoing the oil.

Excellent performance

The oil mister performs as described. It dispenses a fine oil mist without any chemical propellants; its design is a complement to the most discriminating kitchen.

Oil Mister is my valued cooking tool

This is my 3rd Oil Mister and I keep it filled with olive oil for some of my favorite recipes; sauteeing red peppers and onions for pasta or for scrambled eggs and warming shells for tacos. I went a few weeks without an oil mister before I ordered this one and it was like playing golf without my favorite wedge, all of my alternate approaches for adding olive oil to recipes were not nearly as effective and more time consuming. I am very dissapointed with the mister. It sprays a very small amount of oil and then fizzles out almost immediately. Having had a mister previously I expected this one to work as well. No matter how much pressure is pumped into the cylindar, it does not seem to work. I would not purchase this product again.

the best mister ever

This one really mists the oil. I had another one which I lost at work. It never worked as well as this one. I'm so glad I lost the other one.

Very well made and attractive. Function is very practical as well; you don't have to keep paying a premium for canned spray olive oils, you just refill this. You also of course get to choose to spray a lot more oils. Only complaint is that after maximum pumping, you only get about three seconds of spray, then it's back to pumping. Not that it's a lot of effort, just annoying. Seems like they should design a product that gives you at least 10 sec of fine spray before piddling out.

Good but not Great

It's good for applying a light spray of oil for flavoring and such, however I bought it to replace a can of cooking spray for non-stick cooking. When I use vegetable or canola oil in my hard anodized skillet to fry eggs they stick. I don't have that problem when I use a store bought spray can of canola oil.

I didn't have any problems with the mister itself, it just doesn't replace the store bought spray cans.

can't win 'em all

Very pleased with other items ordered at same time. This one is a BIG disappointment. May be faulty but does not squirt and I won't be using it.
