Good product
May 24, 2008
I read a couple of reviews from other users, and they were less than enthusiastic, so I was a bit skeptical about the oil mister. But it turned out to be really great; no leakage, easy to use. I think the tricks are to only fill it half full and be sure the inner cap is well tightened.
My only reservation might be that it requires re-pumping pretty often while using for any large surface, such as a baking sheet, but that is easy to do.
A great advantage is that it does away with the objectionable fumes and odor of the propellant in pressure cans of oil. Also, I recently discovered that use of pressure cans can harm the non-stick quality of pans such as anodized aluminum Calphalon, for instance. This mister is a great solution to applying a minimum amount of oil for baking, etc.

This is a great product that benefits you as well as the environment. Everyone knows that you should never use aerosol non-stick sprays on any non-stick surface. This eliminates the need for those sprays all together. You can use it on any almost any cooking vessel or surface and with any type of cooking oil. I came back to Cooking.com to buy more as hostess gifts. Everyone should have one of these in their home.

great mister, easy to use, doesn't clog

I like this so much I have two, one for olive oil and one for macadamia nut oil (which I use in place of canola when I don't want the taste of olive oil). In addition to spraying frying pans and cookie sheets, these misters are also great for dressing a salad: if you spritz and toss several times to get the leaves lightly coated, then add a fat-free salad dressing (or your favorite vinegar and a few pinches of herbs and spices), the salad holds up longer before it starts to wilt.

This was a waste of money. It maintains pressure for about 1-2 seconds, then collapses from a mist to a solid stream of oil. Only repumping a lot will restore it, but I don't understand why it doesn't maintain pressure better. I've used others but they were able to mist for much longer periods of time without recharging. Not recommended.

Eazy to Use
July 27, 2008
After you fill it, All you need to do is keep the pressure up by pumping it for about 6 times, and you always be ready to use it. If you use it alot after each use pumpit up so it always ready to use.
We enjoy it very much and you dont over spray the pan or cooking peice.
It used every day we cook and there no oily taste either.

I can't believe how much I like these misters. We have one for vegi oil and one for olive oil. No more Pam vegi spay with the propellents. I would recomend these to anyone who cares about the additives in their food.

Nice product! Works for me.
August 4, 2008
I saw other reviews saying that the product didn't work, and I did fuss with it for 15 minutes before figuring out that it's the lid that you use to pump up the can before you can spray.
But once I figured that out, I have had great luck with it. I feel so much better being able to put my own olive oil in there rather than relying on the chemically-tasting commercial spray oils available at the supermarket. The mister allows me to regulate the amount of oil I want to use for things like sauteeing some vegetables or oiling my panini press. I use less, and it just tastes so much better than Pam!

When I first got this, it appeared to work great. Pump it a couple of times, then press the button to finely spray your oil. I then put it in the cabinette for later use. Several days later, I opened the cabinette, the oil had leaked out of the upright container and onto all of my other food items. Don't let this happen to you. Don't buy this crappy product.

No disappintment w/ this product. We have already given three of them as gifts. All my Barbie ( As in Weber,,, not dolls) friends are really excited about this lil puppy. It's great for spraying meat before grilling; salads and just all purpose use. Am very pleased w/ it and will probabily be buying more for different types of oil.

Meh. Works OK, not great.
October 7, 2008
After giving it a few pumps, it sprays cleanly for about 2-3 seconds, then sputters and dribbles and spits blobs of oil at your target - then you have to pump again. I still use it, but I don't love it. For the price it's OK.

Saves alot of money over storebought cooking sprays. Put your bulk oils in this. Pump it up, and you're there. Works great as long as you keep it pumped up high. Easy to kleen. Seems well made.Would recomend to anyone that uses cooking sprays.

This product exceeded my expectations. I was a bit skeptical, thinking that it wouldn't spray like I wanted it to, but it did. A few pumps, and you're in business!

I previously owned a cheaper plastic version of this oil mister. I always felt like it was to fragile and didn't use it as much as I wanted to. My friend had two of them and they both broke. I love this stainless steel one, It works beautiful and has a lifetime warrenty. I use it several times a day to oil my cooking pans and spray my salads, as I am on a weight reduction program...In short- I LOVE IT.......

disappointed
January 25, 2011
I bought two oil misters one for me and one for my neighbor. Both of us were disappointed in its performance. In order to get it to spray, you had to pump the mechanism so many times the oil would come out around the seal. This product was endorsed on Dr. Oz which is why my neighbor wanted to try it. Not worth it.

I was not impressed with this. You have to pump it so many times to get enough pressure to spray, and then its night a clean mist it comes out more in globs. It was not as easy to use as I anticipated.
