The Cuisinart 8-oz. Supreme Grind Automatic Burr Coffee Grinder delivers perfectly ground coffee each and every time. Like all burr grinders, the Cuisinart crushes your coffee beans to get the ground coffee you can use in your coffeemaker. Unlike blade grinders, burr grinders preserve coffee's natural oils that make it smell and taste amazing. The Cuisinart burr coffee grinder provides 18 different settings, ranging from ultra fine to extra coarse, so you can get the grind that works best for your type of coffee beans and your coffeemaker. Thanks to the automatic timer, the grinder will automatically shut off when it's done, and the grounds will be uniform in size. The bean hopper stores 8 ounces of beans, so you don't have to refill the grinder every time you want to brew coffee. Just before making your cup of coffee, grind your beans. You can grind between 4 and 18 cups' worth of beans at a time. For best results, grind your coffee immediately before brewing. You'll get to enjoy the natural flavors of your coffee, before the delicate oils break down. This coffee grinder comes with a cleaning brush, so you can easily clean the grounds out of the chamber.

Features:

  • Burr grinding protects the natural oils of your coffee
  • Choose from 18 different grinds, from ultra fine to extra coarse
  • Grind enough coffee for between 4 and 18 cups at a time
  • Comes with an 8-ounce hopper to store your beans
  • The timer will automatically shut off the grinder when the cycle is complete
  • Integrated cord storage keeps the cord from getting tangled
  • Capacity: 8-oz. bean hopper

  • MOST HELPFUL REVIEWS:

  • Studied lots of grinders. Knew the expensive ones were out of my budget but I wanted a "burr" one that would grind uniformly. This one does great. Doesn't make a mess (like some) all over the counter. Lets you select from very fine to very coarse. Looks nice on the counter and doesn't take up a lot of room. Usually can't go wrong with Cuisnart products

    I recommend this product.

  • As I saw mentioned in several reviews of other grinders before I ordered this one, it does not make a truly fine espresso grind, even at its finest setting. It comes close enough that I give it a good value for the price, but if you want a true espresso grind, keep looking.

    I recommend this product.

  • I love this coffee grinder. I saw it at my daughter's house and had to order one. I just push a button and the right amount of coffee is ready to be brewed. No more measuring, cleaning the grinder daily, no more mess. And I can store 1/2 lb. of coffee beans in the grinder, see when the supply is getting low and add more. I wish I had known about it years ago.

    I recommend this product.

  • Thanks Alton Brown

Saw the show on making a man's breakfast. In it, he recommended the burr grinder type. We were using a spice grinder or (shudder) buying our Starbucks beans already ground in the Supermarket. We placed the old spice grinder back to it's normal duty and now wake up to the wonderful spell of fresh ground coffee. As for the portioning of the coffee, going by the standard number of cups they recommend, we usually go down 2 cups (ie: grind 6 cups if we're making 8 cups of coffee). This makes it just the right strength for our taste.

    I recommend this product.

  • Son-in-law likes it

My son-in-law expressed an interest in a coffee grinder so decided to get him one for Christmas. After spending hours ( and I mean hours) trying to find the right one I finally decided to purchase this one. The deciding factors were that it seemed like the best deal for the money. While there were numerous negative comments, there were also some positive comments. Those that were more highly recommended were much more expensive. I did not know if my son-in-law would feel it was worthwhile to grind his own beans or weather this was a passing interest, so I did not want to spend more money on something that would soon find it's way to the top cupboard shelf. So I decided on a somewhat middle of the road model. We tried it out the morning after Christmas and the coffee smelled wonderful. The taste was not what we wanted but that was because we needed to find the right amount of freshly ground coffee to use. It did not work to use the same amount of ground coffee as the freshly ground. But since then he has made coffee using this coffee grinder everyday and says it is great. He has not indicated any problems to me so I presume that means that nothing is so terrible that it is worth commenting on. So with all of that I think it has been a successful purchase.
If something happens to this one then we will know more about what to look for in purchasing either and identical model or a more expensive one. But anyway, so far so good ....and good coffee drinking.

    I recommend this product.

  • I have had a Braun mill for over 30 years - burr grinding mechanism wore out; and I used it past when i should have. Mill has been discontinued for years, and parts are no longer available...perhaps it has become an antique. I looked at many mills before I purchased the Cuisinart, and spoke with people that had one. I find it to work very well, and while others have com[plained about noise, it is no louder than my old mill. It is, for me, difficult to expect a "silent" mill that is grinding relatively hard coffee beans in any kind of grinder.

    I recommend this product.

  • Does a lovely job! My one complaint is if there are only a few beans left, they tend to "dance" around the hopper, rather than go down the chute. Other than that, it's easy to clean, stores well (nice cord holder thingie along the bottom), and fills the kitchen with that delicious coffee smell!

    I recommend this product.

  • The BEST coffee grinder I have ever owned

This grinder is the best one I have ever seen. It allows you to "fine tune" the amount and grind of the coffee beans to make the perfect cup of coffee. Truly worth more than the low price. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to make a great cup of coffee.

Only negative is that the coffee grounds get stuck in the bottom corners of the bin.

  • Yes, the grinder is on the noisy side, but it is efficient, it is not messy, like previous burr grinders we owned, and the fact that it can hold a half pound of coffee beans and grind up to 18 cups is wonderful. We found, however, that to actually brew 10 cups we need to grind for 14. Not a problem once you realize the conversion. And the price? Fantastic deal.

  • Burr Coffee Grinder.

I like the Cuisinart coffee grinder. I would recommend they make the On button red so it can be seen. I mean the start button. I used red finger nail polish on it lightly, so it could be seen better.

  • I'm not really happy with it. It is loud, the hopper has to have a bunch of bean in it to work. I use a french press and the course grind setting also produces a lot of fines. Not much better than a coffee mill.

  • Great coffe grinder

Works well. Large capacity hopper. Have used it for everything from grocery store coffee to freshly roasted Jamaican Blue Mountain. Have had not problems. Yes, it is noisy, but what do you expect? You are grinding coffee beans after all. Great product if you are serious about coffee.

  • Different type of grinder, but a good one.

Like others have said, it is noisy when grinding, but since it only takes a few seconds that is no big deal.

When done grinding, if you tap on the sides of the container before removing, there is no mess made. Also when removing the lid from the grounds container, use the included scoop to push down the fines from around the top. This goes a long way to keeping it and the area clean.

    I recommend this product.

  • Two negatives:

    1) the automatic stop function does not work well. When the grinder stops grinding there are still beans in the hopper. I have to hold down the start bar to finish the job completely.

    2) the static in the plastic container is a pain. Ground coffee clings to the sides and it is difficult to remove until I wash the container.

    One positive:
the taste of my coffee is improved by this grinding method.

  • This product, in general, works well. It grinds coffee without making a mess. It is noisy, but no worse than other grinders I have used. There is one problem though. The interlock which keeps the machine from running without the bean bin is not made properly. The ridge on the bottom of the bean bin is not long enough to fully depress the interlock pin in the base. As a result, the unit doesn't run unless I press down on the bean bin. This is an annoyance in an otherwise good product.
