Want to speed up your cooking time and save energy at the same time? With Fagor's Duo pressure cooker, you can do both. By using this pressure cooker to prepare anything from risotto to roasts to savory stews, you'll reduce your cooking time by one-third and your energy use by 70 percent! A pressure cooker is a wonderful resource for canning and simmering stocks, too. The spring-type mechanism in a dial format can be moved from one setting to another without changing valves: high (15 psi) and low (8 psi).

Unlike pressure cookers of the past, you'll never experience noisy steam escaping or mushy food. Most important is that you can cook high-fiber, low-fat foods in record time while preserving essential vitamins and nutrients - and conserving energy, too! The 18/10 stainless surface won't interact with food. The duo pressure cooker has a triple-safety mechanism and pressure control valves plus two independent over-pressure release valves. The handle has a safety lock. The pressure cooker comes with a steamer basket, trivet and recipe book.

  • I'm completely delighted with my Duo Pressure Cooker by Fagor. I had a cheaper pressure cooker before and it was ok, but this is the cadillac of them all. I actually look for excuses to use it.

    Thank You.

    I recommend this product.

  • The lower rating is a refIection of ease of use for a novice using Fagor's less-than-simple instruction booklet. I would recommend this cookware, but with a proviso. It is somewhat difficult to get the knack of cooking things just right. I have been using the booklet's advise, and come out with mush or undercooked items. Be prepared to experiment a little if you have not used a pressure cooker in the past. If you are a pressure cooker pro, this pot will be sure to please. It is well constructed and easy to clean.

    I recommend this product.

  • Great for high altitude cooking

I grew up learning to cook at sea level in California. Moving to 7000 feet in Colorado has been an adjustment in learning how to cook with less atmosphere. (Water boils at only 93C up here.) I was never able to soak and cook dried beans long enough to get them fully done. This pressure cooker enabled me to thoroughly cook black beans in only one hour (after soaking for 24 hours). I have also tried other foods with great success, but the beans are the big winner. Now I can simulate a sea level boiling point with the pressure cooker.

    I recommend this product.

  • Love my Fagor Pressure cooker

Used it every day since I got it. Made a meatloaf the first night in 20 minutes, carrots were unbelievable, so much flavor.Did some beef broth in an hour. Made mashed potatoes on Sunday, they were out of this world. Have told all my friends about it. This 8 quart is a good size.

    I recommend this product.

  • Fagor Duo 8QT Pressure Cooker

Excellent product ! Much easier, and safer, to use than old aluminum pressure cooker I had before. Stainless steel is also easy to clean.

  • Excellent value and quality product

I think this is an excellent pressure cooker for the money. The fit and finish is excellent, it has a wide stable base and is not overly heavy. Literally my only quibble is with the pressure indicator button, which is the little button that pops up when the pot reaches pressure. Sometimes it seems to be stuck in the down (not fully pressurized position). The pot will be spitting steam from around the handle area and if I jiggle the handle, the button immediately pops up as if it was simply stuck and couldn't pop up. Other times it pops up perfectly with no spitting. This is a minor, minor quibble, more an owners tip. I have no experience with other pressure cookers to know if this is a common problem. Also, I thought this model was made in Spain but it is actually made in China.

    I recommend this product.

  • Fagor 8 Qt. Pressure Cooker

I love my 8 qt. pressure cooker. It cooks well and as Cooks Illustrated mentions, it doesn't scorch things like my 6 qt. model did and it holds more. I had previously owned the 6 qt. Fagor model and this is a bit different in terms of how the top locks, minimum amount of liquid needed when cooking, etc. so make sure to review the operating manual.

    I recommend this product.

  • New to pressure cooking

Pressure cooking is a radically different way to cook a variety of foods. There is definitely a learning curve. I am having difficulty becoming comfortable with the use of this product. Apparently the gasket should be cleaned, inspected and oiled after every use. I had trouble knowing when I had achieved the proper temperature because the pressure regulator stuck the first several times I used the cooker. I have had good results cooking various meats, vegetables, legumes and rice.

  • First Pressure Cook was a Great Choice

I've heard and read so much about pressure cookers, I thought I'd try one. Shopping with Cooking.com, I chose the Fagor 8 quart model, and to say the least, I'm a very happy pressure cooker now. The price was right, the size was right, and the construction is superior. Great, easy to read instructions, and nice recipe book enclosed.

Highly recommend this Fagor product to everyone for a more nutritional cooking routine, and time saver!

  • Easy to follow instructions for operation, good to have since you do not want the thing to blow up on you. Actually, it is pretty much fool proof.
