Nice Addition to My Set

I already had a few pieces of Calphalon and I like it very much. The new pan with the two types of inserts worked great for me. I make a lot of pasta and vegetables so have been using both inserts.

I am very happy with this purhcase. The steamer and pasta inserts are extremely helpful, and I appreciate the see-through lid. My only complaint is that the interior handles on the steamer insert are not securely attached, and get in the way more often than they are useful. Overall though, if I had it to do over again, I would still buy this product.

I was disappointed in what I received, price.

The product I ordered cost twice as much as the original product I purchased at an outlet mall. I bought the product to be a replacement for supposedly the same product which was ruined when water cooked too low and I added more water. When I added water to the former stock pot, the sandwiched bottom separated from the main pot. I had hoped to simply replace the ruined unit, although it broke my heart to lose the original value I got by having to buy a second product to replace a ruined one. I was so proud of my original purchase. However, the new product which I purchased from you was not exactly the same so that the lid and internal parts cannot be used interchangeably. The reason is that the lids on the two different units fit on the stock pots differently: One fits inside and the other fits over the top. I had hoped that I could still use the lid and internal sections of the old product in the new product, but I don't think they're going to work. I may have to toss the whole former product because the spaghetti strainer and steamer part won't fit any pot I have. I hate the waste when companies have to make sure you cannot make the most of older products but have to buy every part new or it won't fit. Also, I didn't like the look of the duller finish on the product I ordered from you. I preferred the shinier finish of the original product which I purchased at the discount mall for half the price you charged. Another thing I would have preferred would have been a wider pot. If the pot had a wider diameter, it would have more utility for me.

Quality

Nice and big. I like the steamer insert and drainer. Nice pot with many purposes. the drainer doesnt sit deep into the post, so more water is needed to use that feature. it didn't take long to boil water.

multi uses

I needed to replace a very old pot that I used for boiling pasta or making stock. This pot does it all and more with the extra steamer insert. I don't expect to replace this in my life time and maybe even one of my children will inherit it.

it is a very nice addition to the kitchen,but as stated in another review u need to fill the pot at least half way to cook the pasta as the insert dictates the depth...

Great Pot!

I really like this pot, the strainer insert is so handy, and construction is substantial! I haven't used the steamer insert yet, but I'm sure it will perform great as well.

8 qt. stock pot by Calphalon

This is a nice heavy stock pot great for preparing soup stocks. I was concerned that it might stick as it isn't advertised to be non stick but I have not had any problems with food sticking in it. I have a 6 1/2 qt professional non-stick pot by Calphalon but it has discolored a bit and lost some of it's non stick qualities and simply isn't big enough to make a rich complex stock. This pot also comes with several inserts which I haven't used yet. Normally this pot would sell for well over $100 but I got it for $60. A great buy.

it was a gift

It looked very good when taken out of the box. It was a gift, so I did not actually use it. My mother who was gifted was very happy.

Definitely worth the money. It a heavy duty pan and will definitely hold up for years. One you can pass down through the family.

Very good looking pot and strainer, you cane cook all kids of vegetables in it at a time. Make darn good pasta too. Would not have any other, thank you.

Love using the pot. Great for steaming things, especially tamales.

I really liked the product but was dismayed to see it at half price in the next communication that I received from you. This hurts.

The handles on the basket for steaming tend to get in the way of larger items we like to steam and the larger colander sits a bit too high for larger amounts of noodles. That said, it still works.

This is a great sized pot with two inserts that I think are fantastic. No more little fold up steamer inserts for me!

Calphalon Multi-Pot

The Calphalon stainless steel multi-purpose stockpot is a very good quality item which I will use over and over again for many years. It is heavy duty, a good large size, and has a large steamer insert, which was an unexpected bonus (it's much bigger than the steamer insert on the pot it's replacing). I am very happy with both the quality and the price of this cookware.
