not quite the same

While this has a copper bottom like the original set we purchased 3 years ago, the handles are thinner [less metal] and look like they are stamped, not cast metal. Aside from that inconsistency, I love this pot as it has measurement markings on the inside, and you can fit 5 ears of corn in there. If you are wondering, it does not have a strainer lid like the newer non-copper sets, but it is so tall, I can imagine it would be hard to pour our while trying to keep the lid on anyway. For reference, 8qt is to the tippy-top, so you can really cook only 6.5 quarts without a mess. But that's still alot more than our 4qt! Retail price was too much for this brand, so we were satisfied finding it on sale.

My experience with Emeril's cookware

by Dick, TX
December 13, 2011

Several years ago I purchesed a set of Emeril cookware from All-Clad. I really like the way it distributes the heat and cooks at a lower temper
ature. This 8qt. stockpot is just right for the quantity of food I prepare. My 6qt. pots are just not quite big enough and I end up with soup all over the Range.

size matters?

I have pots that are 35 years old and my 8qt pot is twice the size as my new stockpot of 8qts. I thought no way are these two pots are the same capacity. But they are !! I love the tall slim line and the handles are nice and strong. They are far off the side so they hardly get hot to the touch. Get job folks.
