A GREAT GRIPPER!

I accidently bought this item. It was listed with the CAN openers and looked similar to one I wanted so I bought it.
Turns out I am keeping it because it does a great job with lids I hadn't been concerned about until now.
I use canning jar lids to reseal a lot of things. I keep old canning jars and use them in place of plastic containers. Once in awhile I will find something hidden way back in the back of the fridge and by then the lid is tightly sealed and almost impossible to remove. (peanut butter keeps for months!!)
This gripper does a great job removing those tightly sealed items! I have way less trouble with the lids now and hadn't known I needed the help!! ;D

not positive yet.

i think that the plastic might be somewhat flimsy. not positive it might not snap while using. i think maybe something more solid feeling in my hand would give me a better feeling. go to store and compare ones that give you that feeling it might not break while in use. i answered the 2 questions yes above cause they made me but and because it has not broken in use yet

It is helpful but has not been successful with the really difficult and challenging jars (stuck really tightly) for which I bought it in the first place.

Why did you ship such a small item in such a big box? Not very efficient.

I assume the product works as intended. I made the purchase based upon the description that it can be used on jar lids of up to 4 inches. It did not fit onto a jar with a lid of 4 inches.

Works well, but ...

This jar opener securely holds almost any lid size and the handle is sturdy and long enough to have leverage to turn without too much effort to loosen the lid. However, one has to have enough strength in the other hand to hold the jar securely.

Wish it accomodated large jars that one might use for picnics like pickles, relish etc. when you are feeding a bunch. These are very hard to open and a man with big hands is not always around.

Although I like the concept of this product it doesn't work as easily as advertised - I've tried to use it several times on different types of jars and only got it to work correctly once - disappointed

I've only used it a few times but it made it possible for me to open a jar that I probably would not have been able to without this product.

I live in Asia where jars routinely are impossible to open and the threads stick whenever jars are closed. This opener has repeatedly come to my rescue.
