The innovative design of the Frieling Emsa 9-in. Nonstick Glass-Bottom Springform completely transforms the art of making delicious cheesecakes. The sides and the bottom are separate pieces, as with all springform pans. Attach the two pieces via the clamp to keep your cheesecake in one piece during the baking process. Before filling the springform with your cheesecake batter, press the crust against the seam. You won't have to worry about batter leaking as you fill the pan. After removing the cheesecake from the oven, undo the clamp, and the sides will lift easily from your cheesecakes. Thanks to the nonstick surface of the sides, your cheesecake will stay completely intact, and the edges will be smooth. Check the doneness of the crust visually by looking through the clear glass bottom. This glass surface also makes an elegant serving plate. Feel free to slice your cake directly on the glass bottom: the knife won't scratch it or damage it in any way. Over time, this glass bottom stays clean and clear. Transferring the springform from your counter to your oven and back again is easy thanks to the two large handles. This versatile springform pan works well for cheesecakes, ice cream cakes, coffee cakes and brownies. If you don't have a sweet tooth, try using it for savory tortes, like a delicious ham and cheese torte.

Features:

  • Nonstick sides allow your cheesecake or other delicacy to keep its smooth edges
  • Glass bottom doubles as an elegant serving dish
  • Cut directly on the glass bottom without worrying about scratching the surface
  • Ideal for cheesecakes, ice cream cakes and savory tortes
  • Cleaning & Care: Handwash and dry thoroughly
  • Depth: 2.5-in.
  • Diameter: 9-in.
  • Material: Stainless steel with nonstick and glass bottom
  • Origin: Switzerland

  • Overall a good product. Glass bottom is an excellent feature (I've broken many a cheesecake trying to remove it from the bottom of the pan before cutting). Handles are a nice feature.

Pan could be deeper ... it is a good bit more shallow than others I have. Also, sides could be made of heavier gauge material.

Product is on the expensive side.

    I recommend this product.

  • Expensive, but worth it, Springform Pan

Cooks Illustrated recommended the glassbottom Freiling as the ultimate springform pan. I wifflewaffled over getting it because it's pricey but, having used it a few times over the holidays, I have to agree that it's a great pan: Lightweight but durable; great nonstick coating; opens and closes smoothly; tempered glass bottom doesn't show scratches from knives; glass bottom is smooth, with no raised edges on the sides, so you can cut on it fully and easily lift the cake slice off the bottom; the glass bottom looks attractive on the buffet table when the cake's half gone, much better than a shoddy metal pan bottom; having handles on the side of the pan is fantastic, makes it really easy to remove the pan from the oven. Really terrific pan. Highly recommended. (Thanks, Cooks Illustrated! I'd never have found this on my own.)

  • Springform pan

Got this product for a cheesecake recipe after reading an ATK review. Haven't used a springform pan before, but this was idiotproof. Handles were very handy, the pan released without any problems, and the glass base worked just fine as a serving plate.

    I recommend this product.

  • Great Product

Bought based on an ATK recommendation and am very happy with it. The glass on the bottom is really nice. I was able to easily see how the bottom was cooking without having to guess at it. Most of it cleaned to very easily. I only had one issue with cleanup and that was oil (pretty sure I used way too much) getting into the bottom rolled lip that the glass slides right above. That part didn't come clean with hand washing, but it did ok once I got a paper towel pushed in there to soak it up. I would think this something that rarely ever happens and, overall, I would still highly recommend it.

  • Joy to use

Absolutely a joy to use for all baking. Handle very convenient for carrying in and out of the oven (Single handed operation almost). glass bottom useful for checking the browning of the base, also useful to check the eveness of the battery with a light shining through. Precision made which is certainly leak proof for cake mix (not water though). The unfortunate thing was the packing doesn't protect the product for side impact. My tin was slightly squished at the handle and is not a perfect circle anymore. Didn't have time to return it. The only thing left to say is, I wish they made more sizes. 9 inches is sometimes too big for my baking. P.S. I thought the price was reasonable but with the postage at around 20% of the product, it was not very economical. But I had nothing else to order for this batch. Oh well!

    I recommend this product.

  • So far, so good

Based on the reviews I'd read here, I took the pan from the box and filled it with water, which leaked where the seam met the bottom. When I put in a crust for the cheesecake, it did NOT leak. I did make sure to press the crust to the edges, particularly at the seam. I love the handles and being able to cut on the glass bottom. The dark sides brown the edges of the cheesecake more than I thought it would. Still testing recipes and getting used to the quirks of the pan, but very satisfied so far.

  • Big Disappointment

Having read good reviews and experiencing great service with Cooking.Com, my purchase of the Frieling Springform pan was a huge disappointment. It leaked and made a big mess in the bottom of my oven! I returned it.

  • I was warned

I checked the reviews for this product before purchasing. The most frequent critique was that it leaked. I figured I could address that with a bead of silicone in the groove, something I’ve done before. I still liked the idea of a glass bottom so I could cut without the need to remove the bottom.

What I didn’t know was that the whole thing was a piece of JUNK. Not only was the glass bottom thin and questionably tempered, but the metal side was flimsy beyond belief. Frankly, this thing should not be offered by Cooking.com.

  • Panned Pan

This pan can best be described in 3 words -- POS.
Ouality is much inferior to my Kaiser pans, and while the idea of a glass bottom has its attraction, it just doesn't work -- leaks like a sieve. The addition of handles was the motivating reason for my purchase in anticipation of being able to easily remove from a water bath. Now I will wait until another manufacturer adds handles to a better quality pan.

  • Worth the $$

A bit more expensive than ordinary springform pans, but very much worth it. Hands down the best pan for cheesecakes. Nice and deep, and the handles make a huge difference...so much easier to grasp, to move in and out of the oven, etc. Plus, the glass bottom is easy to clean and a nice surface upon which to slice as it doesn't get scratched like a metal surface would. I've used it for a variety of things in addition to cheesecakes and would definitely recommend it. In this instance, you DO get what you pay for!

  • The handles on this springform pan make it very easy to manage. The glass bottom is more presentable at the table. Only disadvantage is that it is little difficult to get the bottom placed in the form.

  • I love my Frieling Glass Bottom Springform Pa

So far I have made a Mexican Burrito Casserole in it. It turned out great. I love cutting on a glass bottom rather then the medal spring form bottom which would have resulted in many scratches after a few uses. I look forward to baking a cheesecake in it along with many other recipes. If you do a lot of baking in a springform pan, the glass bottom and handles make it worth the price.

  • Expensive but worth it

I purchased this pan on the recommendation of Cook's Illustrated and have found it to be worth the price. The glass bottom makes service very stylish and a snap to clean up in the dishwasher. Although the rest of the pan needs to be handwashed, it cleans up very easily and thoroughly with no scrubbing. The handles make the product! It is so easy to move the pan in and out of the oven, particularly if it needs to be baked in a bain marie.

    I recommend this product.
