It is not an exaggeration to call this pan revolutionary. Like all springform pans, its sides are separate from the bottom and spring free automatically when the clamp is released. These sides, however, have a nonstick coating, so there is no need to run a knife between the pan and the cake—say good-bye to ragged edges. The base is heat-proof glass, which won't be marred by a knife when the cake is sliced and makes a nice serving plate. Finally, the pan has two large handles, a benefit when the filled pan needs to go from counter to oven.

Big Disappointment

by Charles, PA

Having read good reviews and experiencing great service with Cooking.Com, my purchase of the Frieling Springform pan was a huge disappointment. It leaked and made a big mess in the bottom of my oven! I returned it.

Great cheesecake pan

by Christine D, NJ
January 10, 2008

I splurged on this pan to have an extra special pan for my cheese cake.
It is everything that it is advertised to be.
The glass bottom is wonderful-no more scratches in the bottom of my pan and sturdy enough to serve it.
Recommend it highly

Really enjoyed having the handles for easy access to lift from a water bath without burning myself.

It is a good stuff. Heat circulation is pretty good and I like I can grab the handles when put in and out from oven. I also like that I can use normal stainless knife to cut the pie/cake (because the bottom is glass). I love it and I would surely recommend this product to somebody who is wondering about buying it. However, the reasons why I rated only 4 stars are... I don't like is that the buckle part ( the shiny metal part) gets rusty... I know it doesn't touch the inside (food). And I think the price could be a little less because usually pyrex glasses are pretty good price and a springform without glass is not that expensive. I just don't know why if it's a springform with glass can be this price.

I love my Frieling Glass Bottom Springform Pa

by Angela, TX
July 7, 2009

So far I have made a Mexican Burrito Casserole in it. It turned out great. I love cutting on a glass bottom rather then the medal spring form bottom which would have resulted in many scratches after a few uses. I look forward to baking a cheesecake in it along with many other recipes. If you do a lot of baking in a springform pan, the glass bottom and handles make it worth the price.

Springform pan

by Theresa, WI
February 17, 2007

I purchased the Frieling Glass Bottom Springform pan for myself after reading an equipment recommendation from Cook's Illustrated. The seal is very tight and I have had no problem with leaking. My only caution is to use a plastic knife to loosen the sides of the cheesecake. I forgot and used a metal knife which does scratch the surface of the metal ring.
When I purchase this as a gift for friends and family, I include a plastic knife with the gift.

Easy

by Judith, CA

If you don't like to bake, cheesecakes are the easiest besides brownies to make. This pan makes it so much more easy. My old pan was painted porcelin and scratched with years of use. This cleans up much faster to.

I have seen regular springform pans for $7 - 10 and they work just fine. I loved the idea of the handles, but if I saw it in a store, I'm not so sure I would have purchased it because it was so much more expensive. It came highly recommended and I will keep it because it performed well, and the handles made it easy to get in and out of the oven, and easy to transport. Also, I will keep it because it would cost me money to return it,and it's a hassle.

The handles on this springform pan make it very easy to manage. The glass bottom is more presentable at the table. Only disadvantage is that it is little difficult to get the bottom placed in the form.

The pan performed as expected. It is necessary to place it on a cookie sheet while baking because there is a small amount of liquid that leaks from the bottom. From what I have learned this is true of all springform pans/with removable bottoms. It was easy to clean with only the screws on the sides needing extra attention.

SO much easier to use than my mom's old pan! Easy to see why America's Test Kitchen made this pan a top pick.

This is tremendous! The handles are so efficient and I can scarely believe no one thought of this before. The glass bottom is so easy to work with and serve. Cleaning is simple, too. I wish this product came in other sizes. I will probably buy another 9 inch anyway.

In fairness, I have to say I have never used a springform pan before. This pan leaks but perhaps they all leak.

I already owned this glass bottom springform pan and it worked so well I decided to find another one! It doesn't rust from the cut marks on the bottom and is easier to store cheesecake with (I don't need to remove it from the glass bottom to store). I would definitely recommend it!

What a wonderful addition to the kitchen. The Frieling springform is very nicely made and did a beautiful job on my first cheesecake. The glass bottom is a real plus for durability, no Teflon coating to worry about scratching while cutting and serving. I certainly recommend this pan.

Best Springform Pan I've ever had

by Ann, WI
July 9, 2007

I've had a number of springform pans in the past and eventually have had problems with leaking or in some cases peeling off of the nonstick coating. This may be the last springform pan I'll ever own.
