Although the block is solid and of nice material, the box did not contain the needed screws (states on info they were included) to be able to install it under the cabinet.
I believe it will be a very nice addition to my kitchen once I can find the appropriate screws to install it.
Someone needs to do a better job at quality control in the packing.
This is one of best items I have purchased for my kitchen. Knives are convenient, out of the way and it was very easy to install and is very sturdy considering the block is very heavy, but it has a great mechanism for the turning.
Would recommend this to anyone.

Mounting template was not a lot of help as holes in template did not quite line up with pilot holes drilled in block mount. Wished it had two wide slots for knives instead of one, so I could store my santoku and my chefs knife. Overall a positive addition to my kitchen, as it frees up valuable counter space. Wish they made one to hold my steak knives!

This Wusthof rack is an elegant solution. My only complaint is that Wusthof does not offer different configurations. There should be several versions of this rack so that you can choose what type of knives you want to use it for. But, since this is the only under-cabinet knife block I know of, I can't complain.
Some day, when I sell my condo, I think I will leave the knife rack for the next owner. If I removed it, there would be ugly screw holes in the cabinet. But if I leave it, I could treat it as a special feature.
I gave this to my husband for his birthday. He thinks it's the greatest thing since sliced brad. We have new granite counter tops and it got the knife block off the counter. Have actually thought about putting in a 2nd under counter knife block in another part of kitchen.

I didn't want a block for storage because it would take up space on the counter. This got the knives out of the drawer and in a handy location. It was the prefect solution.

The installation was billed as being very simple, requiring only three screws. In my case, I encountered a couple of problems. First, the one inch screws provided were not long enough to go through the bottom of the cabinet and secure the holder underneath. One and a half inch screws were also provided to be used with an optional block if needed for an overhanging cabinet which I did not have. These were okay to secure the knife holder, but were about one eighth of an inch too long so that I had to hacksaw off the points so that the holder would turn freely. Finally, it was necessary to find something to support the holder under the cabinet while drilling the holes and inserting the screws. I tried several things and ended up with a stack of hardbound books which worked. Even though the installation was not so simple for me, I am extremely pleased with the result.

Since the block has been displayed, we have gotten other coments on it, so I hope to have others order soon. We managed to put an extra bolt into the mounting slab and feel much better about it. It's wonderful to have the knives right where we use them and not taking up counter space. I love this product!

It installed easily and definitely serves its purpose. It's not obvious, but a great gadget that people think is great once they notice it. I would recommend this to anyone with limited counter or drawer space but still likes to have their knives close at hand.

The block swings around out of the way when you're not accessing knives. I would have scored it 5 if the wood finish were a little better. Despite the German sounding name its made in China.

The wood split a bit at a seam either before installation or after (not sure which) and 2.) The template for the holes needed did not match the actual holes in the block -- this could have been addressed prior to drilling, but we took the template on faith and didn't expect to have to check it before drilling.
Other than that now that it is up, it is very useful and keeps the knives out of reach of our 3.5 year old.
An extremely handy way to keep knives from banging around in drawers, off the counter, but still excessible.
