Long a versatile kitchen helper, this lightweight natural cotton cloth won't fall apart when wet and will not flavor the food it touches. Cheesecloth has a multitude of uses including straining liquids, forming packets for herbs and spices (as with Bouquet Garni) and lining molds (such as Coeur a la Creme). Fine mesh, 9-sq. ft.

  • I've used this cheese cloth to make jelly which I then process-can. The jelly came out very clear with no cloudyness. I washed the cloth and re-used it with the same results ....the edges are not finished so they frayed but I finished them myself with a quick stitch on the sewing machine and I will just continue to use the reuseable cloths as long as possible. Most cheese cloth I've used is more of a guaze quality and this material resembles good linen. I think I will get a lot of use out of it.

    I recommend this product.

  • Sturdy, fine mesh

This cheese cloth is excellent. We have been using it for making soy milk. The mesh is very fine, so it keeps most of the pulp out. The fabric is sturdy- we have rinsed it out and reused it many times already and it is holding up fine.

    I recommend this product.

  • Finest Ever

I have numerous needs for cheese cloth and this is exactly what I needed. The only kind I find here in Asheville is more loosely woven and more like netting and very thin. It can't be washed and reused. I am really pleased with this product.

  • Cheese Cloth

More tight weave than at local stores but still not as tight as I would have liked. We are using it to strain maple sap/syrup.

  • Use it for making Greek yogurt

It is ideal for this purpose. Next, will try almond milk. I have a Faberware steamer pot and just cut a small piece of cheescloth to cover the holes so the liguid whey can go through and thick yogurt is left. The yogurt separates from this cheesecloth better than store-bought.

  • Best cheesecloth ever!

There is no better cheesecloth to be found. I've been using it for at least ten years. It's nice and thick and its fine mesh are perfect for my needs. I use it for straining beef stock -- it keeps out all the yucky stuff, leaving a crystal-clear stock. It covers my turkey and keeps the skin moist. I also sew up a bag to use for stuffing the bird. When the bird is done, all I have to do is pull out the bag for the stuffing. No standing there scraping out stuffing, hoping you get it all. I love this product!

  • Have yet to use this

I rated this high even though I haven't used it, because it is what I was expecting, and barring fiber problems or stains on it when I open the package, it is what it is. I plan to use it for bean sprouting, cheese making and tofu making. Since these are all new to me, I have hesitated to get started. I am anxious to get going, so if I get some kind of extraordinary silts with this cloth, I will repost with a update.

  • good item

I was pleased with it.. ...Maybe a resealable container would be good for it. I've never used a cheesecloth before, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but it worked as I had wanted it to.

    I recommend this product.

  • Glad I found this product!

This is just the right density for my uses. Others have been too thick to allow juices to drain properly, or too flimsy to wring out without tearing.

  • Just what I wanted/needed

    Very fine mesh.
Excellent for straining cooking liquid for clams/mussels.
Also, works well to strain butter when needing
    clarified butter.
Washes up quite well; can be used again.

  • actually useful for making cheese!

This is so much better than the cheese clothe you get at your local supermarket. The material is durable and the weave is tight enough to make all the cheeses we wanted.

We used it instead of the hard-to-find "butter muslin" that the cheese book suggested for soft cheeses, and it worked well, even on the soft-cheese curds.

I ordered two packages, and we had more than enough to make 1 batch each of mozzarella, chevre, and farmhouse cheddar. Better yet, you can rinse it, throw it in the washing machine, and use it again.

If you actually want to make cheese, you can use this and everything wil come out fine.

    I recommend this product.

  • Just too big, I guess

I thought I was getting a great value by purchasing the 9 foot cheese cloth pieces. The problem is I don't need 9 feet and had no desire to waste it. When I cut it, however, the ends shredded a bit and I had to take care not to get pieces of cloth into the yogurt I was straining. I was not completely successful.

There's nothing wrong with the cheese cloth as long as you need 9 feet of it!

    I recommend this product.
