Makes one 9 inch sourdough base
RECIPE INGREDIENTS
1 teaspoon
active
dried
yeast
1 cup water
1 cup
all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon
salt
2 cups
all-purpose flour
DIRECTIONS
FOR THE STARTER: Combine 1 teaspoon active dried yeast and 1 cup water. Whisk in 1 cup all-purpose flour. Cover with plastic wrap and set aside at room temperature for 3 to 24 hours, until frothy. (The longer the souring time, the sourer the dough.)
Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 2 cups all-purpose flour to the starter. Knead until pliable, about 5 minutes. Set aside in a warm place until it has nearly doubled in size, about 40 minutes.
Serving Size = 1/4 pizza
