20 Minutes
Yield:
Makes 4 cups
Garnish with whole or sliced strawberries. For an array of fresh fruit drinks, see the Orange Fruit Cordial, Lemonade, and Lime Fruit Cordial (pictured at right).
RECIPE INGREDIENTS
2 cups
strawberries
2 tablespoons
lemon juice
1/3 cup
sugar
2-1/2 cups water
Ice cubes
Vodka
Soda water
DIRECTIONS
Place strawberries in a bowl of a food processor and process to a smooth puree. Stir in lemon juice. Combine sugar and water in a saucepan. Place over moderate heat and stir, without boiling, until sugar dissolves. Chill sugar syrup.
Combine strawberry mixture and syrup and let stand for 15 minutes, at least, before straining into a jug or bottle and chilling. Serve with lots of ice, a dash of vodka and soda water.
