Error with recipe easily fixed-- READ FIRST!
Yes, there is an error in this recipe, the flour should be 1 and 1/2 cups. The recipe yields a very dense moist cake and it's delicious! It's too bad this website doesn't review the recipe for errors. . . anyway, it's very good.

Disasters of a cake!
STOP...NO NOT make this cake!!!! There has to be a misprint on this recipe. Too many liquid ingredients and not enough dry. The runny batter was pouring out the sides of the springform pan. I returned the batter to the mixing bowl (knowing something is not right) and added a bit more flour. It baked like a hard custard quiche. After one slice...yuk, I throw it in the garbage!

MISTAKE
I followed this recipe to a "T" but this ends up more like a very dense, bad omelet than a cake. There MUST be an error in the amount of flour - the batter is very VERY thin and never becomes a "cake." Flavor not bad but this ended up in the garbage can.

Is this the way it should be?
Followed recipe, baked for 1 hour as directed. Toothpick in center came out clean. After cooling, found upper half of cake to be cakelike and lower half to have a custard texture. Is this the way it is supposed to be? Noticed there was no baking powder or soda in the recipe. Is that correct? Flavor was good but was put off by the custardy texture of the base.

Wet and dense
I made this with high hopes, but am throwing the rest of it away after serving 4 pieces. It is so wet, dense and more like a custard than a cake -- it has a huge amount of liquids and a small amount of flour. The flavor is OK, but the texture is gritty from the almonds, and positively wet. I am an experienced baker and followed all directions.

nice but,
it was easy to make, smelled wonderful, the texture not as appealing as you would like.

Is there a typo in this recipe?
This was a disaster. The cake never got done but was like a pudding. I made it exactly as specified, a thermometer showed my oven was at 350. The batter was VERY runny, which had me concerned, and that's why I wonder if the liquid amounts were printed correctly. The flavor is nice, if it would just bake into a cake.
