A Hit!
While other reviewers offered delicious sounding modifications, I quite closely followed the recipe as presented. My customers are my wife, her mother, and her grandparents (all from Texas) and we all found this to be a delightful recipe. Will definitely use it again and again and can't wait to serve it to friends. The crusty bread for sopping up is a must in my opinion!

Wonderful, even for people who don't love sausage.
I love artichoke, so I added a bit extra. I ended up using red potatoes, red wine, and local sausage made with red wine and asiago cheese. It was absolutely fantastic, and I will absolutely make it again. This would be great for guests to enjoy a comforting meal over red wine and good conversation.

I have been making this for years. I make it with Italian turkey sausage these days to cut the fat. I always use red wine.
