Blueberry Grunt - a childhood favourite
this is good and somewhat reminiscent of my childhood favourite but to me, real grunt wants to be a stove-top dumpling not a baked topping

Stove-top version from Nova Scotia
via Taste of Nova Scotia Sauce: 4 c fresh or frozen blueberries ½ tsp ground nutmeg ½ tsp ground cinnamon ¾ c granulated sugar 1 tbl lemon juice ½ c water Dumplings 2 c all-purpose flour 4 tsp baking powder ½ tsp salt 1 tbl sugar 2 tbl butter Milk Heat sauce ingredients; cover & boil gently until slightly cooked down. Sift tog dry dumpling ingred. Cut in butter & add milk til soft biscuit dough. Drop Tbls of dough in hot sauce, cover, simmer 15 min-don't look! Dumplings will cook&puff. 6svgs
