No fudge is good for you
This is a cute idea to use up extra candy or add a surprise. It wasn't as creamy as other recipes, so use a favorite fudge recipe & add the layer of candy. Boiling temp was hard to reach, so 9 mins worked well. I used a 9x13 dish for thinner pieces, since fudge is so rich. I haven't seen a recipe yet low in sugar or fat. Store bought fudge would be the same or worse. What you do not see does not bother you. Fact-anything that taste good usually isn't good for you. Enjoy/don't over indulge.

Calm down-it's a treat, not a meal
This is a super rich, super sweet, indulgent fudge. I just made it today for a holiday party coming up. One piece is extremely satisfying to the sweet tooth. JoGay, as for the kids, sugar + hyperactivity is being seriously questioned. Check it out... http://marginalrevolution.com/marginalrevolution/2011/11/sugar-doesnt-cause-hyperactivity.html Either way, a piece of this fudge won't hurt them. I too had to cook longer to reach the required temp.

Re; JoGay, ND, Candy Bar Fudge
JoGay,have you never heard of rationing? Do you always allow your kids to have whatever they want & as much as they want? This makes four pounds of fudge! A serving is ONE PIECE! Please rate the recipe based on it's merits and reserve your opinions for yourself, be appreciative of the fact that someone went to a lot of trouble to make these recipes available for us! A recipe is a guide! Adjust it to meet your requirements & tastes. This recipe is outstanding, ALL my friends & family says so too!

Confused??
How do you get 7 dozen pieces of fudge from a 9 inch square pan?

Fantastic
The recipe was relatively easy and very delicious. Everyone that ate the fudge loved it. The only problem with the recipe was using the candy thermometer. In the end, I cooked it on medium-high heat for about 10 minutes to get to the desired temp. I will definitely make this fudge again.

Really????
There IS a difference between flavor and over the top. Way to much sugar, could send you kids into outerspace for a few hours, which is okay if that is where you want them.
