Raise the Heat and Lower the Sugar
Two problems with this recipe. First, 325 is too low for cookies that will be firm enough to support icing. I suggest 375 to 400. The key is to check for browning around the edges. If they are not brown enough, they are not ready. Secondly, Four cups of confectioner's sugar produces way too much icing and the butter and 4 tablespoons of half-and-half do not produce enough liquid to make the icing spreadable. I suggest you cut the sugar in half, then make more if you need it.

Really fantastic, with a few changes
As the others noted, it's too sticky as written. However, add 1/2 cup regular flour and 1/2 cup rice flour plus a tablespoon of vanilla and this cookie is fantastic. Not too sweet - which is great when you're putting frosting on them.

Needs more flour
I tried this recipe and found the dough too sticky and had to add an additional 1/2 cup of flour in order to keep the cookies from sticking to my hands, the table, the roller, and the cookie cutter shapes.
