Not just a breakfast cake!
I made this for a work potluck and it was a hit. Not a crumb left! This recipe appeared to me to be more of a dessert rather than a breakfast coffee cake. I also drizzled penuche frosting on top rather than just the powdered sugar glaze. That added one more layer of flavor! I will make this again.

This cake is very tasty BUT I was disappointed when the cake fell apart upon releasing it from the bundt pan. It separated at the apple pie filling layer. I will try this recipe againbut will put the apple pie filling on top of the batter and let it fall toward the middle of the cake. It seems that this is what happened when I put the pie filling in between each half of the batter.

Moist & Delicious
I have made this cake in the past and since I'm not a fan of the packaged spice cake flavor (any brand), I use a white or yellow cake mix and ad the spice my family is fond of, i.e, apple pie spice. I too chop up the apples to a finer degree, as the slices seem to settle to the bottom. It is easy and very tasty for anytime of the day. I sometime use a glaze instead of frosting as it is has a nice sweatness to it alread.

Nice cake
This was a nice and easy cake. I did chop the apple pie filling into smaller pieces. Did not need to make frosting. Had whip cream on hand. Will definitely make again.
