Too Much Butter

Sounded like a quick recipe but when I started making it I felt 1 cup of butter was too much, but decided to try it anyhow. Yep...way, way too much butter. And not anywhere enough cherries. I am sorry to say I had to throw it out. What a waste of ingredients and time. Probably a misprint in the recipe and could make it again using 1/4 cup butter and another can of cherries. I emailed the Inn asking for correction to the recipe. Will try again when received.

This was very easy to make. I used frozen mixed berries and frozen peaches, thawed but still cold. If I made this again I would probably warm the fruit some first, because some of the batter was uncooked. The fruit held it's shape and texture and was very tasty. The top crust was almost like a cookie. It was chewy and delicious, but the whole dish was swimming in an inch of butter which was quite unappealing. The amount of butter could have easily been cut by a half if not more.
