This is not Old-Fashioned
Adding bulgur wheat to meat balls and using prepared sauce - there is nothing old fashioned about this recipe. This may be a healthier version, but it not what your mother or grandmother would ever do to make spaghetti and meatballs

Not Old-Fashioned Spaghetti & Meatballs
The recipe is not for Old-Fashioned Spaghetti & Meatballs. Back in the day we used pasta made from durum semolina wheat, not whole wheat. We used whole eggs, not just the whites. We used white bread crumbs from old bread, not bulgar or whole wheat breadcrumbs. And we made the marinara sauce which is very simple to do. This recipe is a trendy version of an old fashioned recipe.

'Old-Fashioned' it isn't.
The spaghetti and meat-balls were tasty but the title is most misleading. This recipe tastes nothing like homemade slow cooked spaghetti sauce and rich tasty meatballs. It is admittedly healthier but how about giving it a more realistic name? Perhaps, 'Quick-Healthy Spaghetti & Meat Balls'. These lack that comfort food quality ......

Too Much Filler
With more filler than meat, these are meat-flavored cardboard. With 86g carbohydrates per serving, and 568mg sodium, this is NOT a healthy alternative.

Not My Spaghetti & Meatballs
I don't know where they get their ideas about Italian cooking. I learned from my two Italian (off the boat) Grandmothers and I never saw such junk go into their pasta, gravy (yes, gravy, not sauce) and meatballs. No oregano ever went into meatballs or gravy. Only on fresh tomatoes or on pizza. They didn't use tons of basil, just a little, but lots and lots of garlic. Please stop saying these are "authentic" Italian recipes, they are NOT.
