Woulda given it 5 stars but...
The cake is really very good but the topping is so very tart that it took away from the goodness of the cake. I will bake it again and add some extra sugar to the topping part of the recipe. Maybe then I will review it again with 5 stars. Thank you cooking.com for all your wonderful recipes.

Great and wonderful recipe. The combination of cranberry and apple, perfect. I had made this for my girlfriends birthday and she was happy for me. This cake is genuine. Check this site www.everything-cake.com,

Easy to make allergen-free
I needed a recipe with few eggs as I make things sans eggs, dairy and nuts b/c of my 5-yr-old granddaughter. I used applesauce in place of the one egg and substituted soy milk for the dairy. It was very good and moist. I can only imagine that the original recipe was the same or better. Easy too.

Pleasantly tart
This makes a great coffee cake. I do not like iced cakes so this one seemed worth a try. The fruit gives it a yummy moistness and the plain cake is perfect with it. I did not have whole wheat flour so just used All Purpose and it came out lovely.

Wonderful for breakfast
I really liked this cake. It was easy to make and baked up perfectly in 40 min. It's not too sweet and with the pretty topping it was picture perfect as well. I used white whole wheat flour in the cake. I used the full amount of sugar in the topping but cut the sugar by half in the cake and it was still fine for me. I will absolutely make this again.

Best Coffee Cake recipe!
This is a fantastic recipe! I used buttermilk instead of low-fat milk because I had it handy but it's fantastic just the way it is. I will make this recipe often.

Perfect lite & delicious dessert w/ Vanilla ICream
After a heavier dinner of stuffed chicken breasts, salad, and home made multigrain bread, this 'light' dessert from EatingWell Magazine was perfect - especially with a small scoop of Hagen Dasz Light Vanilla Bean Ice Cream..... (and coffee!)
