Total Time:  2 Hours 26 Minutes
Yield:  8 generous bowls
Eight twenty something kids tasted this and even two of the guys got the recipe. They kept raving about how good it was and that it was the best chili they'd ever had. I tweaked a recipe found in a cookbook.
RECIPE INGREDIENTS
2 lbs. hamburger
1 lb. little smokies, cut up
2 onions, chopped
5 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1 diced jalapeno pepper
1/4 tsp salt
1 - 14 oz. ketchup
1 cup water
1 - 1.75 packet of chili mix
1 can Ro-Tel original
1 - 15 oz. kidney beans
2 - 15 oz can pinto beans
3/4 cup pepper jack cheese
3/4 cup sour cream
DIRECTIONS
Brown beef, sausage with onions in a large skillet. Drain. Add garlic, jalapeno, salt, pepper, ketchup, Ro-tel, chili mix and 1 cup water. Simmer 20 minutes. Add beans and simmer for 2 hours, stirring often. Top with cheese and sour cream.
