Lemony Banana Frozen Yogurt

Yield:  Makes 1 quart
RECIPE INGREDIENTS
2 very ripe bananas
1/2 cup loosely packed dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon grated lemon zest
1 quart plain low-fat yogurt
2 just-ripe bananas
DIRECTIONS
In the container of a blender or food processor, combine the very ripe bananas and the brown sugar and puree.


Add the banana puree and lemon zest to the yogurt.


Cut the just-ripe bananas into quarters lengthwise and then into 1/4-inch-thick slices. Add the slices to the yogurt mixture.


Refrigerate for 1 hour, then freeze in an ice cream freezer according to the manufacturer's instructions.


Serving size = 1/2 cup
