Red White and Blue Cake

The ultimate 4th of July cake, not only does it look good but it tastes good too.
RECIPE INGREDIENTS
1 box   White cake box mix
1 lb    Strawberries
1 lb    Blueberries
1 qt    Heavy cream
1/4 cup Sugar, granulated
2 tsp   vanilla
DIRECTIONS
1. Prepare cake mix use one 9 inch round, cool


2. wash and slice thinly the strawberries


3. Wash the blueberries, removing any blemished ones


4. Whip the cream to soft peak add the sugar and vanilla and whip to stiff peak.


5. To assemble, cut cake in half lengthwise, spread whipped cream onto the top of the bottom layer.


6. Shingle the strawberries around the outer layer and then a row of blueberries, then another row of stawberries


7. Top with top and spread whipped cream over entire cake in a half inch layer.


8. Top the cake with the fruit, using the same pattern as the center.


9. Pipe a border around the top and base with the whipped cream.


10. chill in cooler in cake pan to keep moist.


11. Serve with a small scoop of strawberry ice cream, blueberry ice cream and vanilla ice cream to carry the color theme.

poorly written instructions ... as stated in an earlier review you say to use 1 (one) 9 inch round cake pan and then instruct to cut the ROUND cake lengthwise ... you give a complex pattern for placing the fruit, yet no picture to help with the outcome ...
