Skillet Spanish Rice

Yield:  Makes 6 servings
RECIPE INGREDIENTS
1 pound lean ground beef
2 medium onions, chopped
1/2 green bell pepper, seeded and diced
1 cup uncooked white rice
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 cup tomato sauce or one 8-ounce can tomato sauce
2 cups water
DIRECTIONS
In a large skillet, over medium heat, brown the ground beef, onion and pepper; drain off the fat.


Stir in the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes or until the rice is tender.
